I just received news from my ex that his mother has passed away. My ex-mother-in-law was as close to a mother to me as she could be. She came here (to WI) from KC, MO for 2-wks when I had surgery on my back last year. I am heartbroken over this. She was only 54. I am paining even more as I've not kept in touch the way I should have.

My point here, please call those you love and tell them. You don't know what tomorrow brings.

Please keep her children and grandchildren in your thoughts. This is very hard for all of us.

That is some good advice. I know when my grandfather died it was unexpected and I never had a chance to tell him how much he meant to me. To this day I still think of how I should have went down there regularly.

I am so sorry for your loss. And yes, it is always important to remember to tell people how much you love them. "I Love You" were the last words my David and I said to each other before he died in his sleep...I am so very thankful (and comforted) to have those words to hang on to.

Remember for yourself though that it sounds like you had a good relationship with her and she knew that you loved her. (((Jenimadison and family)))

I'm sorry for your loss.

You couldn't be more right. For years I wanted to tell both my grandparents how much they meant to me, but I could never get the words out. I thought of writing a letter instead, but never got around to it. My Grandmother now has alzhemiers and dementia, my Grandfather passed away last month. I never got around to writing that letter, and now its too late.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts. Margy was very special to me. She made it clear that I was divorcing her son, not her. We found out that it was a massive stroke (brain hemmoraging). I'm just so thankful she didn't suffer.

I am trying to find a way to Kansas City. My poor back isn't going to let me make the drive. If I'm able to be there, I would hope I could say something at her service. She truly was special.

I would also like to write something about her for kids and especially grandkids.

so sorry about your back Jeni. I was really hoping surgery would take care of it. It must be so frustrating. If you end up not being able to go, maybe you can write it and send it to the funeral home to have it read at the funeral/memorial.
