Just got my yearly reminder postcard:

"The National Association of Letter Carrier, in conjunction with the United States Postal Service will be collecting non-perishable food items like canned soup, juice, pasta, vegetables, cereal and rice on Saturday, May 10th., to help families in need in our community.

You can help by placing your food donation at your mailbox on May 12th. before your letter carrier arrives. Your carrier will take it to the Post Office, and it will be delivered to a local food bank or pantry. Please do not include any glass or perisable items."


*EDIT* How I can have the date right in the title, but NOT in the body of my post I'll never know! D'oh! LOL!

I got my card yesterday. The place we live now has a community mail area. I was shocked at how many of those postcards were discarded on the ground

Bet the card will be in today's mail, comes late afternoon.
I'll have to go gather some canned goods,etc.
Just donated quite a few things to the food pantry/affiliated with Matthew's nursery school.

I didn't get a card. Our post office here is doing it differently. I saw a notice in the Post Office today that said to take our donations to the Food Pantry or drop them off at the Post Office.

I don't think it would hurt to call'em Shainie...I honestly think the card came much later than usual. I was thinking it came like on the Monday before the "pick-up" date...I could be wrong tho.
