Shocked WOW, $AVED A FORTUNE AT THE GROCERY STORE TODAY

I am a coupon-aholic
We get duplicate coupon flyers from one of Charlie's co-workers plus we get two Sunday papers.

Today, between store savings (using my scan card, sale items, etc) AND my many manufactuer's coupons, I saved a whopping $98.16
This was my personal best
How do you say 'stockpile'? LOL
5 bottles of BBQ sauce, 5 bottles of J&J kids shampoo, 9 pckgs. of Band-Aids,........

WOOHOOOOOOOO!

<giving myself a pat on the back>
Naomi

A $98.00 savings, I wouldn't mind that one bit. Just wish I had the time to go through coupons. I spent $110.00 without coupons, which for me is pretty good. That was with me being a careful shopping, no impulse buying.

Coupons are a part of life. I'm devastated if I forget them and even go back home to get them before I'll shop. I don't buy as much as you Naomi, but my cupboards are pretty full! I'm a very careful shopper.

Cool, Naomi!! Good job!

About the best I can do is go to the Walmart Supercenter 40 minutes away. Our last grocery trip there (HINT: never take a hungry pregnant woman food shopping ...) was $190 worth - same stuff at our local grocery store (the ONLY grocery store around for miles) would have cost us at least $200 more than that.

Coupons seem to be rare around here. They don't put coupons out in our local paper.

Yet another "coupon queen" here. Monday's grocery run netted just over $200.00 in groceries for $87.00!! Mind you, this was somewhat of a rarity, because there were a couple of customer appreciation "super coupons" that took $30.00 right off the top! Still, saving nearly 60% was a good feeling for me!!

I'm a firm believer in using coupons. I spend roughly an hour clipping and sorting, another half-hour comparing them to the weekly grocery ads, and an additional 1 1/2 - 2 hours in the store itself comparison shopping. It's all worth it when you get totals like the ones posted in this thread! Congrats Naomi, luv and the rest!! We all deserve a pat on the back!

WTG!

It's so much fun (that or we are easily amused ).
I know every week I keep it @ $50 or below and it's like a game.
See how much you can get for as little as you can.

Glad you had a good time.

For anyone living in the Connecticut area, they are in the process of building a Wal-mart Superstore in Waterford, CT, adding onto the existing store. Can't wait for that to open, I'll bet they'll be some great grocery savings there.

Wal-Mart SuperCenter coming to Wallingford too
There's already a 'regular' WM in Wallingford, moving down the road to the former KMart location (larger building, etc)

I rarely use coupons anymore now the kids are about out of the house. No need to stockpile because we use alot less. My best coupon story is a very sad one....
Years ago, when all 4 kiddos were pretty small, I went grocery shopping with all my coupons, leaving the kids home with hubby. It was snowing outside and in the south that is a big deal so all the neighbors left their cars parked at the bottom of their driveways. After about 2 hours of intensive coupon shopping I attempted to check out and realized I had left my checkbook at home. Called hubby and he said he would run it down to me real fast.....well he backed out of the drive into the neighbors Mercedes....So the coupon shopping trip only COST us about $1950 after you subtract the coupons.....
