Simply described - it's a diary you keep for public view. Some (like Mayor's) enable input from the reader in a comments section.

You can also create a Blog that you don't put on the net and keep it for your own use. You can find free software (freeware) or paid. Google recently purchased Blogger. It's a freebie.

That is cool...my daughter's aunt has a site similiar to this through a hospital in MN where she tracks daily her husbands progress after an accident. IT's neat!!

Nice blog and interesting layout

It does take a long time to fully load the page for dial-up since everything is on one page. The blogs I have seen before have each day on a separate page.

I like the clean design also. Was just a suggestion to get each entry on it's own page. Those images take a long time to load

Didn't take long for them to load here, but I'm on broadband. Maybe a suggestion to make thumbnails and a link to a large picture if people desire.

The layout is virtually standard as it comes with the software, movabletype. I'd sure like something with a bit more.. er, character?

Mayor... why not make the page someone is on, just the talking you're doing... no pictures. Make links to the pictures. Most blogs are text for the diary of the hour/day with underlined text links taking the reader to another page.

Most blogs I've seen don't have much "character"... not because of the software (because you can always do some html editing) but because that's the nature of a blog, basically diary entries.

I like your logo on the left top. I like the calendar... some blog software doesn't even have that. Movable Type is very well known.

My suggestion for what it's worth, is to make the main page just text. (keep the logo) and make links to other pages, with pictures of the kids, tornadoes, etc.
