Question Do you keep Shoes boxes...

Do you have as many shoe boxes as I do? I keep piling more stuff in them and labeling them and just leaving them sit. I went through about 8 the other night and just started throwing junk! I didn't think I kept that much stuff!

They don't really stick around here for too long. The boys make things (boats, dinosaur "scenes", etc..) and once I see they're over their newest creation I toss it..LOL! I think I have a couple in an extra room that I've labeled also, for things (or extras) I don't use very often.

Nope, I have just enough room for my shoes. There's no way I'm going to keep all those boxes.

Shoe boxes, butter dishes, mayonaisse jars, cool-whip bowls....yep..if it will hold something, I feel like I need to keep it in case.

I have a sick feeling I am going to be one of those old ladies that keep everything until it gets so piled up I have to sleep on top of it all....lol

Yup I keep most of mine.
Label them and they stack so nice in shelves.

I have some older shoe boxes, I store negatives in them, others, letters from penpals, and also greeting cards I've received from my family. Other than that, I usually toss them 'cause I have hanging shoe racks.

Um.. Sometimes I keep them, but most times I don't. I do store my best shoes in the boxes in my closet so they don't get dusty/scratched/smooshed. My kids keep their school valentines in a shoebox, and I'll use either the shoeboxes or an empty diaper wipe container to store Christmas ornaments/decorations in. Occassionally, I'll use them to straighten up the sock/hoseiry or the "unmentionables" drawers. My dd has three shoe boxes in her drawer to keep her tights separate from the stockings and patterns separate from solids.. blah blah.. you get the point.

Basically, if I don't have an immediate need for the box, it goes in the paper trash can to await burning....

Now those butter/sour cream, etc containers and Mayo, gravy, spaghetti sauce, jelly & Peanut butter jars are all a different story. I have a cabinet over stuffed with 'em. I use them a lot for freezing extra portions of food, freezing my homemade apple or pear butter, and just for left overs. They also come in handy when the kids need a disposable container for lunch when going on field trips. Oh, but wait.. this post was about shoe boxes. Nevermind....

I keep the ones in good condition because it's only after I've thrown it away that I hear "Mom, I need a shoebox for a diorama at school, oh, and I need to bring it in this morning!" Yikes! So I've learned to be prepared and keep a couple stashed away.

Oh hey now...the plastic containers are a TOTALLY different story!! LOL! I have to keep them...I mean, when the kids want to catch bugs or critters I certainly don't want them reaching for the good bowls and lids..LOL! I also keep a lot so when I want to send leftovers home w/ someone they don't have to worry about returning a container.

Oh yeah...I sometimes save butter container lids to make more sturdy patterns for various crafts, projects, etc..

**Edit, duh...the word sturdy spelled withOUT the "d" makes not a bit of sense..LOL!

Yes to the shoeboxes.....keeps my nail polishes, etc. organized....

Yes to the plastic containers....I call them my "cheap" tupperware....it doesn't matter if they disappear.

I always keep the shoe boxes. That way when the season changes I can put the 'winter' shoes in them on the shelf and take out the 'summer' shoes. Come winter I reverse them. I don't have any extras for storing other things; they get tossed.

So Daiquiri, do you box up the winter clothing and put out summer too? I do that and my sil thinks that's nuts!

Unfortunately, yes. My kids were always needing them for one project or another, but lately they haven't needed any. So now they're just piling up.
