| Distress signal - American Flag Does anyone know why: When the city of Baghdad was liberated why the American Flag was displayed for that short 2 minutes upside down on Saddam's face? That's a distress signal. The soldier, Chin... was told by his commanding officer to display it that way. I KNOW it was taken down immediately, but I've heard reports that Chin was instructed to do what he did. The American Flag is never displayed with the colonies facing down unless it's a distress signal? __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. | Both of the young men were on the Today show Yesterday. The flag had been flown above the pentagon on Sept. 11. He said he put it up there for a few minutes as respect to the men and woman who gave their lives there and then they put up the Iraq Flag. Nothing was said at all about being in distress.
