Hi everybody! The other day I was lamenting that I couldn't send an "any soldier" care package to our soldiers in the Iraq region. Well, this morning one of my friends let me know of a way to help out. Her sister-in-law is stationed on a Coast Guard Cutter out there and there are lots of people who don't get much in the way of mail or packages. She provided the following address for anybody who wants to send a care package: BOUTWELL WARDROOM I.D.G.A Club c/o ENS Natasha Bartelt USCGC BOUTWELL (WHEC-719) FPO-AP 96661-3902 The "IDGA Club" stand for the "I didn't get anything club," and Natasha will give the package to someone who looks lonely. :-) I am guessing that ideas for the package would include a card, snacks of all kinds, phone card, newspaper, magazine, toiletries, drawings from kids, etc... Whatever you think would brighten someone's day. If you want to send something, and it might be a neat idea to get your kids involved, please let me know when you mail the package so I can relay the message for her to keep her eyes peeled. Thanks everyone! __________________ Check out these great deals, or go directly to art.com Save 15% off $150 Purchase at Art.com EXP: 03.31.2003 Use coupon code C142711229717 to save 15% off of your purchase of $150 or more at Art.com.

I would love to send a package. Could you give me some ideas (besides the big stash of snacks that I have ready) what to send?

I hate to be a kill joy...but we don't know how many people can get that address now and send a package. It's for the safety of the service member that the address shouldn't be posted on a message board. Here's the link from the Navy page about this. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Hey Guys. I don't even know this person but my friend does. I can vouch for her. I just wanted to send out a package of cookies and snacks and didn't know what to do or how to do it. I don't anybody stationed over there personally. I thought others might be interested in the same info. I see DianeMarie's point though.

bummer...yeah I understand the point too! I hope the servicemen and women do too - I'm sure it helps their spirits to even know people want to do this. __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]
