Unhappy Too much stuff - feeling overwhelmed! Stopping freebie hunting??

I'm feeling overwhelmed because I have too much stuff! I have all of these samples that I don't get around to using. For example, I don't use hair gel yet I sign up for the freebie for vidal sassoon anyway.

I live in a 1 bdrm apt so I'm wondering if I should stop freebie hunting? I feel guilty when I have to actually buy an item when I know I could have gotten a freebie of it (in sample size). Yet, I find so many unused freebies sitting in my drawers.

Have you all gone through this experience and do you have suggestions?

Maybe you could give the freebies away to somepne wo can use them or post them on the boards here to be given to the first person who replies. What about signing up only for the freebies you know you will use???? If I am unsure, I don't sign up. I hate to be wasteful.

Just a couple suggestions....good luck with finding a resolution.

I sign up for just about everything because I know somebody who can use it. I take mine to family reunions sometimes, everybody loves digging through them and getting a couple of little things.

great ideas, thank you both!

The reason i have not been so picky in the past when applying for freebies is because i never know when i'll need something. but now i see, i rarely end up needing it!

cata5 is welcome here
Maybe you would consider making a care package for the troops with appropriate samples?? Of course, you would have to pay postage...unless there is a local group putting something together that you could donate to??

I get all the freebies I can whether I can use them or not. I take the ones I can't use and put them in a bag (the bag is a freebie of course) and take them to homeless shelters and stuff when the bag fills up.

I do the same or I do as sweetiris and I give them to family members when I go for a visit.

I feel for you, Marina. I, too, live in a one bedroom apartment and there's no room for all my stockpile! I've stopped buying the newspaper b/c those coupons would tempt me to buy things I don't need anymore. I have enough HBA (health and beauty aids) for YEARS! No joke. Just last weekend I gave a bag away of full size items to my in-laws and I usually do the same for my parents. These products are all free, fairly cheap, or things I was paid to take home (after coupons& rebates).

Lightbulb A lot of good (and kind) ideas here.

But, if you need to save $ ~ just stop buying these items at the store for awhile. Place those sample shampoos in the shower, hair gel by the sink. Fix up a travel bag and keep with your suitcase. Fix up a sample bag to keep at work of items you may need. You may be surprised at the amount of extra $ you'll have.
