Who is watching the Miss USA pageant?

I just saw the contestants, Michigan would be my pick. Have any of the DOD members been in the Miss USA contest? Personally I haven't. I love to watch them on TV but could never bring myself to enter one.

There was a male pageant on TV, it might have been last year. Guess it didn't go over well, why? I can't figure that one out.

Even 'though I wanted Michigan, I'm glad Miss Massachusetts won the title. Nice to know someone near my home state won for a change.

3tbear-I used to compete in the Miss America system before I got married and had babies. Miss America is a little more toned down than that (miss USA)...a little less T&A and more about community involvement, scholastic achievement and talent. But we still had to wear swimsuit (yuck). The scholarships were phenomenal, and I pretty much put myself through school with the help. I don't compete too often anymore, but sometimes will do a Ms. or Mrs. pageant just for fun, and I have judged in a lot of state and national pageants. What I found though, is that the interviews and just being on stage were very tough, and they definitely prepared me for the real life job interviews. Everything seems pretty easy after you've been onstage in a swimsuit wearing 4 inch clear heels!! LOL

bestmidwest, more power to you. I don't think I'd feel comfortable on a stage in a bathing suit in front of a large audience. I am slim and all, but I would feel too underdressed.
I used to love watching Miss Teenage America on TV. I haven't seen that in awhile. I wonder if they are still doing those pageants?
