My hometown, Bryan, OH, is famous for:

~Spangler's Candy Company, maker of Dum-Dum Pops, Circus Peanuts, Candy Canes & Candy Cane Classics, Saf-T-Pops, & Astro Pops. They also manufacture, market, and sell: Jelly Belly Candy Canes, Sour Punch Candy Canes, Lemonhead Lollipops, and Atomic Fireball Lollipops. (Nothing quite like taking a walk on a nice day with the smell of candy in the air!)

~Ohio Art, maker of the Etch A Sketch & Betty Spaghetty

~Lester's Diner, home of the 14oz cup of coffee, is said to have been the inspiration for "Mel's Diner" in the tv show Alice

My hometown was Lexington, MA. There are others that I associate with Lexington but really correspond with Concord, Boston and Lincoln.

I'm sure there are other things in the town but these are the things I always think of when I think of Lexington

William Holden was born in my hometown.......aaaaaaaand this coming Tuesday on the Price is Right, a girl from the next town is the big winner...Jamie Green. She won both showcases! She had to sell some of the prize to pay the taxes though....she won something like 43 thousand dollars and had to pay 16 in taxes. sucks doesnt it??

Midland, MI is the location of Dow Chemical world headquarters (makers of Ziplock bags and Dow bathroom cleaner, among other things. Also Dow Corning headquarters (mostly famous now for the breast implant lawsuits, but most people who've worked in a chemistry lab might recognize the Dow Corning high vacuum grease).

My hometown is famous because of an actor who lives here, Art Carney. He used to be on the Honeymooners TV show, was also in the movie Harry and Tonto, as well as other movies.

Well, up the road from me is Titusville, PA which claims to be the birthplace of the oil industry.

And in my city, Oil City, we were world headquarters for Quaker State for decades until the 1990's when they closed up shop and moved to Texas.

Athens, Texas

The Official Home of the Hamburger, The Annual Hamburger Cook-Off, The Black-eyed Pea Festival, and Old Fiddlers' Day.

Athens won two National High School Basketball titles (when they had them) and is the home of the Texas Basketball Hall of Fame.

It is known as Quilt City USA. Every year in April we host the quilt show and people from EVERYWHERE come. It is a big deal and supposedly brings alot of money to the area......although I can't say I saw any of it last year!!

The only thing we are famous for is Doug Bair. He used to play professional baseball. That was a pretty big deal for us.

My hometown is famous for being where the original movie "The Blob" was filmed. The Colonial Theater is still here (where the blob killed the guy in the projection room.)

Also, Mike Piazza (the baseball player) went to our highschool.
