Wink How many people own a fake hairpiece?

I just bought one. It's fun to wear. Mine is kind of wavy and curly, it clips onto my own ponytail. I want to buy one that is a straight ponytail type next. I get tired of waiting for my hair to grow out.

Not I...said the fly....I have long enough hair on my own. I don't like to toot my own horn, but when someone asks me what my best feature is, I respond "my hair". It is long, straight, thick & blonde.

I've got one of those butterfly clip hair thingys too.

I really like my hair, it is shoulder length, but on some days when I don't want to "do" it...it's easy to just twist it up and clip on the hair thingy. In fact, I had it on the other day and asked DH if my hair looked OK, and he said "Yes, it looks cute." I said "Good, because it's fake!". He didn't even realize it was a clip-on.

Mine's a curly one too. Have been thinking about getting a spikey or longer one. (Mine's by Revlon).

I also have one of those hair twisties...the kind that are like an elastic band with hair on it. Looks pretty around a pony tail.

Now my daughters, they have some wild ones with braids, different colors, ect. Cute on them, but not on me!

Chatter box I just bought one.....BUT......

Hey gang!!

I saw one advertised on HSN.....you know, the HOME SHOPPING NETWORK....(am I allowed to say that?? ) Anyway, it is called the "Tonytail" and even though I have long, straight, blonde hair, I thought I would get one of these hairpieces and just try it.

So.......I ordered one....it came about a week later and well, I put my hair in a ponytail and then used the "tonytail" to put up right where the rubber band was holding my ponytail......and it was sooooooo cute! Only problem was.....it was a lighter blonde color than my own hair and it stuck out like a sore thumb!!!

I finally decided that with my OWN hair being down to my hiney, I didn't need any MORE hair....so, I returned it. But, on those models on TV, they look sooooo cute......but they get PAID to look cute! LOL!!!

But anyway.....that is the end of my "tonytail".

A chik with too much hair,
CritterBug

I have a ring of fake hair that I use when I put my hair up in a bun...then I slip the pony tail holder over my bun and it looks great!

Re: How many people own a fake hairpiece?

Hey 3t, I was wondering...in all of your shopping for hairpieces, have you ever seen a bun one like this? I would really like to get one because my hair isn't long enough to do the low bun. See pic...

Re: How many people own a fake hairpiece?

After going through chemo and having to wear wigs on 2 different occassions in the last 5 years, I don't really care for "fake hair" anymore. My wigs were nice though, made from human hair and very pretty. I donated them when I was done with them, and then when I lost my hair again I just wore a bandana or hat, I was so sick of looking at wigs, I didn't care the last time.

The lady on our morning news has been wearing a fake ponytail about once every 2 weeks or so, it drives me absoutely nuts looking at her in it....it looks awful!

(kinda reminds of Madonna's clip on ponytail back in the day)

Re: How many people own a fake hairpiece?

I own one of those hairpieces that look kind of like a scrunchy, that you put around a ponytail. They actually look really cute on. I found mine at the drugstore, Brooks Pharmacy carries them, so do CVS pharmacies for around $4.00.
