Need Help for Research Paper at School

The paper I have to do for Monday is on Animal Research Should we use animals to do research on to find cures for Cancer,etc. I just wondered how everyone here felt about it.Also if anyone can tell me some places on the net i can look for Animal research and Children so I can use this as refrence for my paper Thanks

I realize the paper is going to be based on opinion... mainly yours. If you took a poll I'm relatively sure you still won't have much more than 45% for and 45% against (with some resulting in not sure). I can find you links on the net if you want... I do research for my business with Google Answers. Why not post a poll on DOD and have people vote. Keep it to yes, no, not sure. I'll search around for links so you can gather your thoughts better. This is a really tough one.

I think it is easy to be against animal use for medical research...until you or a loved one is faced with a life threatening situation that needs research - like Michael J. Fox and Parkinson or Christopher Reeve and paralysis. Unfortunately, animal research is sometimes the best way to find cures for humans. I want to trust that medical schools and pharmaceutical companies truly implement good animal use guidelines and protocols when animals are used.

And that's my opinion.

I would much rather have an experimental drug/procedure tested on animals first instead of a sick child first.

Contact the press office at The American Hospital Association in Chicago about their guidelines for animal research. Their stance is very humane.

Just wanted to say thank you to all who gave me info on this project and those who gave me your opinions..At the beginning of this assignment I didn't know which way to go..But aftyer some much research I feel like most.Yes we should use animals for research since it is saving many lives and improving the qaulity of life for many others...I learned alot about this and the activist make it sound much worse than what it really is.now my biggest challenge is typing this essay it has to be 3-5 pages long eeek I hate doing essays i be so glad when this semester is over and I pass the class that is/ Thanks again I knew I can count on you and btwtlspigel I really used the Phoenix Winner Essay it was remarkable
