Went to visit DD today

We just got home from visiting Amber.She looks pretty good just was very tired .She said the medicine they have her on makes her sleep during the day but awake at night .They are going to try to alter it to do the reverse.I asked the Psych if he thought she may possibly have a chemical imbalance or anything else causing this he said He doesn;t belive so.It seems she just has problems with her anger more than anyting.She had an episode a couple of days ago where she went after a young lady and they ended up restraining Amber and giving her two injections.Amber informed me today she really felt bad because this young lady got scared and left the program now Amber said Mom she needed this program as much as me and I ran her off I feel really bad and sorry I told her Amber sometimes we do things that we regretand we cannot change all you can do is Learn from it and try not to make another mistake.Ambers counselor told me Amber wants to have a better relationship with me and to become a better person.She still has her heart set on going through the Academy again and making it all the way this time.She wants to enlist in the Navy when she turns 18 I told her she has to be healthy and have her Anger under control in order to go back there I think and hope she realizes this.While leaving and after putting Amber back in her ward the Case Manager informed us under hush hush policy that if Amber restrains from anymore Anger outburst that it is possible she could be released Next Wednesday.I am just afraid that this may be to early.I pray every day that she can get to the bottom of her emotional outburst..Thanks again for all the concerns and prayers they are well apptreciated and again God Bless You.

I do hope and pray they 'know what they're doing' (no offense), would just hate to see her revert back ......

It must be a living h*ll for your family, I truly hope Amber gets the help she needs, she deserves that much!

Airslady: Sounds like you had a great visit. But I would tend to agree with you about being released too early. I hope she's getting all the help she can in there.

Sounds very positive and that Amber has got a strong desire to make the changes necessary! Understanding the need to change and wanting to make those changes is an important step....good for her. Thinking of you...........

Glad she is getting help.Please let the staff know you are worried they may release her to early.As her Mom you know her better and need to tell them if you feel she is not ready.She needs help learning to control her anger and knowing why she gets so angry.
Does she have impulse control problems.

I work with a girl who has problems with her anger. You'd never know it to talk to her, she is the calmest person, but then again, she has to take meds for her problem on a daily basis, to control her anger. I'm guessing it's from some sort of imbalance in her body, I don't really know. I hope Amber gets the help she needs.
