becareful when buying flowers online from sites that dont deliver via local florist

I just had conversation with online flower site executive, most flowers come from Columbia!!! they arrive into MIA internation airport, than taken to warehouse in FL.




That explains why many flowers arrive half dead. They are stored in fridges in Columbia, than in MIA, than fedex picks up them in special fridge containers. So many of them dont survey long journey from Columbia.
proflowers,kabloom,4plaza and many others who dont deliver via local florist deal with this company in FL, they just make revenue from sales while company in FL fullfills the orders.

So far, I've had great luck sending flowers from KaBloom & Hallmark. Although, I sent my mom a 20 stem selection of Peruvian Lilies for Valentines (she loves these) and somehow they got the order wrong and sent her 4 dozen pink roses instead!

Oh well, she said the roses were absolutely beautiful and the customer service people at KaBloom were pretty clueless - they said my order said that they'd sent the right flowers so that's all they knew! My credit card was charged correctly, so I'm not complaining but I would hate to have been the person who ordered all those roses (about $75 or so) and only got a $35 box of cut flowers!

I only use 1-800Flowers.com. I know, they are a bit pricey, but when my mom gets her arrangements she says they are absolutely beautiful. Why mess with a good thing right?
