Computers and the waist

Has anyone else noticed their clothes getting a little tighter around the waist since you have a computer? Some days I am here for hours and, of course, I have to have something to nibble so I have a bowl of candy close at hand. This has become a very bad habit and now I'm beginning to notice what it is doing!!!

We only have two more months until spring (I hope) when I can get outside and do something! The computer is my winter get-away.

Yep,I noticed it too.I now have a note On the candy bowl that says"Before eating candy go look in the mirror with your clothes off".It stops me from eating as much candy.

Although I'm sometimes online for hours (sssh, don't tell anyone) I also exercise for at least 40 minutes/day. That doesn't seem like much but I've maintained my current weight for a year, so I must be doing something right. (or wrong, depending on how you look at it, because I haven't been able to lose ONE measly pound)

My rule is to not eat outside the kitchen. No food in the living room or in the bedroom UNLESS we're watching a movie.

If you like to nibble at the computer maybe you can look for things that are less fatenning. Aren't tootsie rolls a bit better? Or maybe just tic tacs would even help out. Possibly popcorm or pretzels?

If you want to eat while at the computer, maybe you can eat less at meals, or try going for a walk once a day.

I hate the idea of cutting out all the yummy stuff, so I try to work around it somehow.

No problem with that here. I dont get to sit down for that long with 3 kids, esp since I hear the baby fussing again about whatever. I also dont eat away from the kitchen table. A 32 oz glass of water is all I bring with me to the computer.

It's the waist. I haven't gained a pound, and at my age no amount of exercise will change the waistline so I've heard. My favorite is popcorn too, but here I have Tootsie Rolls and other hard candies like cinnamon or mint. Otherwise, I'd have the popcorn or pretzels.
