Big grin Anyone filed their taxes yet??

I DID!!!!

Mine are relatively easy however... I just filed the state taxes online (getting a refund... it will be VERY NICE.. specially paying off some of my LORD OF THE RINGS Ebay debt!!!)

I will probably file my federal taxes tomorrow. waiting for my mom to send me my forms. They mistakenly were sent to her and not to me.

So.. am I the first DODer to file my taxes?

Hubby is in the process of doing ours (he started last night) We use H&R Block online so it remembers what you have done and you can go back and finish it at a later time. He was working on our stock information and got tired last night so he gave up until tomorrow. (He bowls on Tuesday nights so he couldn't do it tonight)

I just had to wait on the state to send their forms

Needless to say, they were SLOW this year.....usually have them last week of Dec. or first week of Jan.

Filed Federal return on the 17th, accepted by the IRS on the 18th and estimated date of deposit for our return is the 31st!

We also have to file Oregon state returns and we can do that tomorrow. Hopefully there'll be some money coming back.

No, we haven't yet. Joe always likes to wait until the end of Feb. before sending them in. It doesn't really matter, though, we plan the taxes so we don't owe anything, nor do we get anything back.

Haven't filed yet (not even sure we've gotten everything we need TO file). Hope the refund is as good this year as it was last year, after we set some aside for our July vacation the rest will go into the savings acct. (need to build that back up)

Years ago I remember having to pay a small fortune, apparently my hubby wasn't having enough taxes taken out of each paycheck. Fixed that, now he has the maximum taken out (and then some) so we are guaranteed a refund

Naomi...if you haven't changed anything since last year (like the amount claiming throughout the year), I think you'll be pleased. We got back $250 more than last year and hubby earned roughly $3000 more than last year. Also for the next 5 years we'll be able to take "credit" for DH's 401K contribution, that alone added $105 to our refund....we did just your everyday 1040 form, standard deductions...no itemizing.

It's so hard to predict, hubby's in outside sales and some of his income is based on commission........then there's the p/t job, etc.
Wonder if we qualify (I doubt it) for the Earned Income Credit?

He lets his "financial advisor" prepare our return, He works miracles
