Red face

Since he will say the same thing over and over I willl not be watching. I watch the news for the highlights and his points that he makes so I can be informed but wasting 2 hours of my DOD time for a 45 minute speech is not my idea of fun.

I was anti-Bush initially.. but then gained great confidence in him.. but now I'm not so thrilled with how he's doing.

I'm tired of empty promises.

I'm watching!

A few reasons:

1. I am a big Bush supporter.. strong young republican here

2. My economics teacher will probably harp on us about not watching it and give a quiz on it... I will be prepared!!!

I am glad to hear him saying things that he really feels strongly about, even though it may win over more enemies than friends.

I was just leaving the room when he said he wants to put an end to all partial-birth abortions...I couldn't agree more! I have written our State reps. and have talked to them on the phone about this issue..it's disgusting. For me, I don't even see this in the argument of pro-choice or pro-life...it goes "beyond". Not wanting a debate here at all, ESPECIALLY about this sort of issue..just saying what I heard and throwing a couple of cents in.

Tried to edit earlier and my power went out...UGH!

yes i am...and i as well was not a big bush supporter either...

then he gave all of us military a raise

but i have to say it's making me very nervous...we are going to war....

i really really hope chris doesn't have to go, i know that's what he signed up for etc. but it's still scary....more scary for me than probably a lot of people could understand...

we've been glued to it since it started....

Thumbs up

I'm dedicating my 1000th post to G.W.!! EVERYBODY should have watched this address! I don't see how anybody could not see how this president has the best interests and security of this country in the forefront. His address was devoid of fluff and laid out the necessity of many actions, including the need to address the threat of Saddam. Nice speech, G.W.!

Powerful/ solemn. I listened to every word. He said more in his homey, slightly inept way, than any President in recent history. Scary but it looks like we will be going to war. And if Congress would only work together for a change, there was alot of good stuff in his proposals.

I thought it was a really good speech. I did not think too much of Bush during the presidential campaign, but I thought he handled the aftermath of 9/11 wonderfully well. I wish he would be a little more cautious before he jumps into a war with Iraq, but from his speech, I could tell that he sincerely perceives Hussein as an evil menace with the capability of doing things as horrific as 9/11 without the slightest twinge of conscience. Some of the possibilities he mentioned scared the he@* out of me.

Me either, gmv! The minute he started naming his cabinet, I started feeling that many of my apprehensions were unfounded.
