Shocked BRRRR!!!!! 20 degrees outside and no heat!!

BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! Last night our heat decided to go out at our house. It was in the teens last night and most definitley not a good night for it to do that. Luckily we have the fireplace so we came downstairs but it was still cold down here. The temp in the house was 59 this morning!!!!

Hubby called our heating guy and he is suppose to be here sometime today to fix it. Hubby thinks the motor went out in it. <sigh> I am staying put downstairs to stay warm......I have the electric blanket also I am sitting under!

It is suppose to snow tonight and tomorrow. I sure hope the heat gets fixed.

If you have sleeping bags stay under those. They are meant to keep you warm in low temps. Try putting the sleeping bag over the heating blanket. We are supposed to get snow here tonight and the low is going to be 17 today. Brrrrrr. I also keep my reuseable hand warmer ready for stuff like that.

YUCK!

Well, at least your electricity didn't go out too. Then you couldn't use the electric blanket

Stay warm, and hopefully the heat guy will be there soon. And hopefully, it won't cost you an arm and a leg to get it fixed

YYIIIIIIIPPPPPPPEEEEEEE!!!!!!

WE HAVE HEAT!!!

The guy just left and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg! It seems that a bearing blew and luckily it hadn't damaged the shaft yet so we got off pretty cheap........$65 to replace the bearing! Of course, he gave us a discount since we were a 'repeat' customer. lol So just goes to prove that not all repairman are out to break you. (and it only took him an hour to replace it!)

Glad to hear your heat is back BillsMrs and that you had a good day! BTW, how is that leaky roof coming in your store, any progress yet with your landlord?

Oh yeah, next time the heat goes out, if you wear a hat to bed, like a knit hat, it keeps your body heat in. It helps quite a bit.

3tbear......

The roof has been patched (we will have to wait and see if that cured it or not). The city inspector is on the landlord about some other items that aren't up to code yet so it will be interesting to see if he does anything about them or not.

We are still looking for another building though. That was just too much to deal with and chances are that the 'patching' they did won't hold or if they do they are not a permanent fix.

Our realtor hasn't had any luck finding us a building. They are either too small or cost too much or need too much work for the price. It is really aggravating if you know what I mean.

We are expecting 4-8 inches of snow tonight. Maybe this will be the test for my roof at the store?!
