Fun from the past, do you remember when?

People used to attach fake tiger tails to their gas tank on their cars. There used to be a gasoline ad "Put a Tiger in Your Tank".

How about those large keys that were magnetic that people put on the back of their Volkswagon Beetles?

How 'bout when hamburgers only cost 25 cents at McDonalds?

If you can remember any good ones, would love to hear them.

I remember when Coke was in a tall glass bottle. I loved those! I can remember my mom saying don't open that unless you are going to drink it all! We had those cheap plastic plunger looking things to keep in the fizz but it never worked!

I remember going to LJS and wearing one of those stupid paper pirate hats while I ate. I thought I was cool...lol Do they still have those?

Big grin The 70's might not be clear but....

I remember:

*Gas pumps with the little balls bouncing around as you pumped gas.

*45's

*When you only had 3 tv stations

*It was odd if somebodys mother worked outside of the house.

*When most women did not drive.

*Most women did not wear pants outside the house and girls were not allowed to wear pants to school.

*Andy Griffith was not a rerun.

Is that enough?

I also rented an apartment for only $180.00. I thought that was alot back then as it was in the back of the building.

Big grin

I remember watching the very FIRST episode of Sesame Street. I think I was 5-years old. My mom said she read about a new show on PBS that was starting that day and suggested we watch it together. Fun, huh?

drive in movies-piling in the station wagon in your p.j.s

A&W- the little trays on the window and the kid size mini root beers

going to the DQ- chocolate cone or vanilla? (not the gazillion choices of today)

POW bracelets

most families had only one car

--------

Remember when lots of people smoked?

Remember when people threw garbage out the car window??? and there were commercials on TV telling us not to litter...
