How about clackers? I still have mine stored away somewhere. We loved playing with them until the school declared them dangerous.
I loved those.....mine were blue crystals..........I'll bet the schools would think these are the least of their problems now.....

OMG..Clackers..great weapons...lol.

Do you remember the single jumprope thing? I can't remember what it was called, but it was a plastic ring that went over your foot and then up around your ankle. It had a rope with a ball at the end. You got the rope spinning and jumped with your other foot.

My roller skates with the key...I made my mom sooo mad one time. I got tired of the skates always falling off (and at really bad times too) so I bolted a pair of sneakers to them...lol. I worked all afternoon on it, making my own shoe skates. When mom got home and asked me what I was going to wear, since I had ruined my only pair of sneakers, I explained that I didn't NEED shoes. I could either go barefooted or skate....lmao.

OOOH, I had one of those, too. It was called Skip and Jump or something like that. That's gonna bug me all night now.

Banana seat bikes. I had a purple one. I absolutely loved it.

How about Pssssssst (that powdered spray you used on your hair to make it look less oily?

Mood rings

Dynomite!! (JJ's expression from Good Times)

The guy who streaked past David Niven at the Academy Awards.

The emergence of the Happy Face. I had a shirt with a big yellow happy face on it that I totally wore out.

Earth Shoes

The first Nerf ball. The only shape they came in then was round.

You actually had to buy flash cubes for your cameras.

Mark Spitz winning seven gold medals at the Munich Olympics and the terrorism involved there.

Green Ghost game

Mexican jumping beans

Yucca-Dew Shampoo

And I totally left out David McCallum and Robert Vaughn in "The Man from UNCLE."

I still have my 78's, 45's, and 33's.

And why didn't Bunny ever get hit with ping pong balls? Why was it always Mister Moose? LOL.

How about paper straws? One could only use them for so long before they got all soggy.
I remember ALL of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pip and I love the same book LOL

I remember most of this stuff and more I wish I didnt LOL!!!

Like:

when we had to wait all year long to watch Wizard of Oz on CBS and it was a HUGE television event???

barnabus collins (oh i was so scared by that girl... angelique or angelica or something like that) on dark shadows (the creepy music!)

going to the drug store for a fountain coke or a real ice cream sundae or root beer float?

when the little town where I grew up had a HUGE party because we were actually getting our first fast food restaurant... a dairy queen!

when going to the movies meant everyone piling into the car and driving forty miles to the drive in... and falling asleep in the back of the station wagon on the way home... and speaking of that old blue station wagon.... hanging out the window in the very back making faces at the town police officer and him making faces back, egging us on LOL!!! and my dad saying "dont make me reach back there!" or "dont make me pull over!" LOL!!!!!

ok now I'm officially over the hill LOL!!!

rual

The "Cabbage Patch Kids attacks" in the stores around christmas that they showed on the News all the time..i told my mom i'd much rather have her in one piece than one of those dolls...i got one for christmas 2 years later

Record books...you played the record on your *gasp* record player and followed along with your book...when it was time to turn the page, you heard a little chime...hubby was listening to some song the other day and it had that sound in it (sample in a rap song) and i just about cried after shouting turn the page turn the page! United Colors of Bennetton clothes...

Every backyard had a skateboard ramp or a trampoline...if lucky..both!

Porch swings...

Trees you could climb without someone saying you were harming the tree...

Duck duck goose..

Candy Cigarrettes

THE ICE CREAM MAN!! (oh what i wouldn't give for a screwball with the frozen gum at the bottom or a rock hard snow cone!) and some Now and Laters with that too please

Transformers and Go bots

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

My LIttle Pony

When Barbie didn't have a belly button...or hips

Baby Alive with the pull handle in the back to make her chew...not batteries...

Walk with me Lisa (doll that was same size as you and if you held her hands she'd "walk") that doll used to scare the MESS outta my little brother LOL!!

Steph......... *sigh* ................ you remember the things my GIRLS remember.

Folding the bottom of your jeans over and rolling them up = French cuffs (at least that's what they called that here)

My first car was a 1974 Nova, and they were made by Chevy. They weren't THAT big, maybe comparable in size in the interior, to today's .......... Taurus, maybe? Now Romie's 1967 Impala.......that was a big car, with a big back seat.

I was just thinking as I read about the sit and spins and the things that Steph posted that they sounded to be about the age of my nieces. My nieces were born in 75 and 77 and they did the same things. And their mom (my sister) had a green 73 Chevy Nova. I think you are a little young for this thread Steph. LOL.

I remember when playgrounds actually had fun toys on them. Sliding boards, swings, merry-go-rounds, witches hats, bars to swing and hang from, see-saws.

How about the shampoo and conditioner called 'Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific.'
