On to more palatable memories! LOL!!

Anyone remember having lucky rabbit's feet? In all unnatural shades, like hot pink and neon green?

What about trolls?

And I still have my Liddle Kiddles. Well, okay, they aren't MINE. My mom gave mine to my cousin, and who knows where those ended up. A few years ago, I found them on eBay, in great condition, so I now have my favorites once again! They are so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have Calamity Jiddle, Babe Biddle and the baby......can't remember her name, though.

Yes, I remember that! Except didn't the onions come after the pickles? LOL!!! Oh, and I can say that in 3.4 seconds!! LOL!!

I didn't have a Dawn doll, but I did have a Tammy doll. She was just a little bigger than Barbie and much easier to dress. I'd like to get one of those on eBay, too, but they're too expensive! I had the reddish-haired version.

Anyone ever have a -

Kewpie doll?

There were a lot of gas wars - usually hovering around 20 cents.

When we visited relatives in the country the phone had a crank, and each party had a designated number of rings. Everyone listened in when the phone rang.

I don't believe everything I hear on the internet!! That is not enough proof for me!

Here is my own proof.

First of all, you NEVER hear McDonald's claiming 100% ground beef!

Second, my husband personally met one of the inspectors for McDonald's meat who told him that his job was to make sure they don't use over a certain amount of meal worm filler.

Third, my cousin had to do a group assignment for a college class where they had to research and write a report on their findings. They learned that they use the worm filler up to 50%.

Now you may need more convincing. But 2 little articles on the internet should not ease your suspicions.

Ok.. well now I KNOW I'm old because I remembered all of this! And yep, we had the pliers too and I was the nasty sister who hid them (mostly because we had only 3 channels in English & my sister would put it on the 4th station that was only in Chinese to make me crazy... LOL).

And Kylee - did you ever have any of the Kiddle Cologne dolls? They were the same as the Liddle Kiddles but they came with tiny bottles of possibly the stinkiest cologne ever made. I remember one Christmas, one of our Grandmas got this for all the girls - even those of us a little too old for them. My poor dad opened up the first bottle & took a big whiff and just gagged! LOL!!

And I actually sold an original EasyBake oven on eBay last year. I picked it up at a yard sale for .10, cleaned it up & it sold for $52.60!

No offense nrages, but I never said what MY opinion was on the whole deal...I simply said "Mom LOVES McD's cheeseburgers, I couldn't imagine her giving up one of her few favorites." One more thing...those were just TWO of the MANY articles I DID find...I'm sure tho anyone could find just as many articles to support the mealworm side...it's just not something I want to fret over, I've already stated/admitted that even tho it's said what is allowed in chocolate that it's not enuf to make me "just say no." LOL!

Not to belabor the point, really, but McDonald's DOES claim to use 100% Pure beef. [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

And when I worked for Tyson Foods, I had to tour one of the new aquisitions...a beef processing plant..ugh. Just like in the chicken plants, they have USDA inspectors. You could literally eat off of the floors in there..where they actually processed the meat...not the kill side. I didn't see any evidence of meal worms, and having dealt with USDA inspectors a lot, I can't imagine them letting anyone get away with adding a foreign substance. Just my 2 cents Oh...and just for the record...in case anyone is wondering...lol...in the rare cases when there is an injury, all product that could POSSIBLY be contaminated with human blood or, heaven forbid, body parts, is quarantined and destroyed. This includes all product process for a certain amount of time before and after the injury...just to make sure.

No, I didn't have the Kiddle Cologne dolls, but I did have this ivory plastic vanity once, filled with Tussy products, and that cologne was pretty bad, too.

I had an oven that baked Creepy Crawlers and Incredible Edibles. I can't imagine the HUNDREDS of bugs I made with that thing. Especially spiders. And though you could eat the Incredible Edibles, I didn't like them very well. They tasted a bit like cheap gummy worms, which I don't like anyway. But it was cool to pretend you were eating bugs. Hmmmmm..........perhaps the creators of "Fear Factor" had Incredible Edibles as a child? LOL!!

Just on a side note, at one time during the "evolution" if you will of the fast food hamburger, most if not ALL fast food places used MEAL to hold the beef together. This MEAL was either CORN, OAT, WHEAT or BREAD as a binder. Ya know just like you use when you make a meatloaf, WORM was not one of the MEALS used however.

Worm Meal, that is just like saying Bubbleyum Gum has spider eggs in it. LOL!

LOL Kylee...hmmmmm...starts out as a child's dream toy and evolves into Fear Factor..hey, could be! LOL!

Was using the bobby pins what gave you "pin curls"...I tried that when I was older, looked goofy...can barely put a curler in correctly let alone use a bobby pin. I did the rag curls also.

I remember Mom buying the Jiffy cake mix and frosting for me to use in the EZ bake oven....I ate oodles of un-cooked cakes..LOL! I was too lazy to wait! LOL!

ROFLOL!! We have one of those ovens that bakes the Creepy Crawlers in our garage - it was from our eldest & she'll be 21 in June! It's still in the original box - we just ran out of the mixes ages ago. Hmmm... maybe I should list that one too.

My brother got a creapy crawlers thing. I hated that. I always burned myself on it...lol.

My Easy Bake oven didn't last long after he decided to cook his crawlers in there. He also ran soggy dog food through it and fed it to my baby sister He was a big meanie..lol.

I had some Liddle Kiddles and a Tammy doll and her sister Pepper.

I believe that pickles does come before onions in the song.

I had a Creepy Crawlers set, and still have some of the crawlers I made. I actually found one not long ago and put it by the microwave. My son about died because he thought it was a real bug. LOL.

Actually, I never played four square when I was little, but it was my kids' favorite game when we lived in California four years ago. They were disappointed when we moved here and found out that nobody here knew the game.

I absolutely loved Richard Chamberlain, not to mention Peter Brown, William Smith, Robert Wolders (of Laredo), Lee Majors, Peter Breck, Richard Long (Big Valley), Wayne Maunders & James Stacy (Lancer) Will Hutchins (Sugarfoot), Hugh O'Brien (Wyatt Earp), Mark Slade (High Chaparral), Michael Ontkean (The Rookies), Frank Converse (Coronet Blue), well, I could go on and on here. LOL.

Don't forget that the tiger was Esso before it was Exxon.

I still have my 78's, 45's, and 33's.

I used to watch Dark Shadows, too. My mom didn't like me watching it, so I would go to my neighbor's house and watch it. LOL. I tried watching it again as it airs on Scifi now, and it was atrocious. The makeup (which I guess was probably good for its time) was absolutely horrid. LOL. And the acting was simply awful. Oh, and the guy who played Langley on AMC was one of the actors. LOL.

We had to wear dresses to school up until I was in 7th grade. Then we were allowed to wear pantsuits (which I hated). By the time I got to high school, we could wear jeans. Does anyone else remember having to wear shorts under your dress or skirt when it came time for PE?

And to think that we once had to use a dial for our TV. I think there's still one lying around my parent's house.

How about the glass gallon milk bottles? I remember having to carry them back to the store so that my mom could get the money on the deposit. Once I dropped one and it broke. I was so upset!

We played jump rope, jacks, fox and hens, hop scotch, and Red Rover (now one could really get injured in that game).

I still watch "Waltons" and "Little House" from time to time, and still cry, too.

I had one of those colored rabbits feet, too.

I had a Chatty Cathy and a Baby First Step.

Anyone remember the Mr Cook restaurants?

How about clackers? I still have mine stored away somewhere. We loved playing with them until the school declared them dangerous.

I blew some teenagers' minds the other day when I told them that I remembered when the Northgate Mall (one of our local malls) was just a big field. LOL. They all looked at me like I was crazy.

How about the last episode of The Fugitive? Couldn't miss that one. We had to see the one-armed man get caught.

And why didn't Bunny ever get hit with ping pong balls? Why was it always Mister Moose? LOL.

How about paper straws? One could only use them for so long before they got all soggy.
