Sandy, last time i went to subway it was for my son to get a bologna and cheese sandwich. The "use by" date on the bologna was 18 days previous to the day we were there. Thank God my son saw it! Everything is not fresh at our Subway

I like Wendy's salads.... have you ever tried one of those?

A 99 cent burger at Wendy's = about 30$ savings when I go to the grocery store. I used to buy some really odd groceries before Wendy's put a restaurant (I use the term lightly) in the same parking lot our grocer is using.

I used to really like KFC but they put SO much MSG in their food now that my allergies prevent me from eating there

They weren't bad. Kenny Rogers Roasters restaurants were sooo good, but they are no longer around either, well, not in this area at any rate. They had the best chicken, cooked slowly over a wood fire I believe.

Roy Rogers was a product of the Marriott Corporation to get in on the fast food business and replace their Jr. Hot Shops brand. Oh how I loved their Double R Bar burger. Actually, there are still some franchises left that weren't bought by McDonalds. Other fast food restaurants that were swallowed up by conglomerates include Red Barn, Gino's, Big T, Hardees (still a few in the Midwest), and Lone Ranger.

Whenever I am in Los Angeles I make it a point to go to one of the original fast food outlets Carl Jr's. They have a policy that once your order is made, the order taker presses a stopwatch. If you don't get you meal in 60 seconds it is free. Real fast food.

Fazoli's is the best!! The closest one is an hour from here but I used to work near it so I would go there for lunch and order a meal to go but eat it there and pig out on breadsticks and save the meal for later. That was basically one free meal!! I wish there was one closer to me. I would go much more often. I love their chicken parmasean and the peppery chicken alfredo. Mmmmm.

Wendys has really gone down hill here on the east coast.

They always seem to be old and dirty.

That bothers me when I know they are working with fresh meat. lol

I like Jack in the Box because of the variety on their menu!!!

We dont even have one here where I live anymore but I wish we did.

Tell me where in Minnesota! I haven't heard of it yet.

If I ever do go out for fast food I go to Wendy's, but that is very seldom. My preference is take-home from the deli at SuperTarget.

Fast Food San Diego Style

There is a taco shop on every corner here. ( and about 10 more on every block). A rice, bean, cheese and quacamole burrito is my favorite fast food!

Personally, or if it's just me, I prefer Taco Bell or Wendy's.
We go to Wendy's because they have nuggets on their 99-cent menu, and their 99-cent fries are a bigger serving than at Burger King. I don't like the chicken at McDonald's.

Re: DOD Poll: Fast Food Frenzy

I am resurrecting this old thread.

I chose Taco Bell ... but I like Burger King's Whopper Burger sometimes.

What-A-Burger is my favorite, but it isn't listed so I chose JIB. I like Jack's sourdough burger and spicy curly fries.

It's funny that you posted that....because when we traveled in TX on our way to Galveston Island this summer, we stopped at a What-A-Burger for the first time (they don't have them here)....and really liked it! We went there several more times after that.....of course "What-A" became a prefix that we added for everything we saw after that....What-A-Wal-mart, What-A-Gas Station, What-A-house, ect.

I rarely stop for fast food, but when I do it's Subway. That's not listed. Second best would be Arby's, also not listed.

Re: DOD Poll: Fast Food Frenzy

My DH loves Arby's-the closest one is over 2 hours away so when we go out of town and there will be a Arby's on the way that's where we go. He likes the Market Fresh Sandwiches. I like the Shrimp Ceasar salad at BK. When the kids were smaller we went wherever there was a playland I bet many of you can relate!
