Angry Do you & yours fight over the covers????

OOOOOHHHHHH, I am SO MAD!!!!

Every night, DH takes all the covers and then freaks when I ask him for some so I can be warm. We have a queen size captains bed that is very tall (it comes up to my waist when I stand) but I bought a King quilt...I did this specifically so there would be enough for both of us. But, NOOOOO he has to keep the wood on the side of the bed warm too. Forget about the wife!!!!!

I ask all night long, "May I please have some covers? I'm cold." and he freaks and yells at me every time! I finaly went and just got my own blanket last night. Then when I got up this morning, I walked around to his side of the bed, put one hand where the covers meet the edge of the bed and grabbed the bottom by the other hand and asked, "May I ask you something, Is it really necessary to have 2ft of the covers hanging off your side of the bed?" to which he replied "It wasn't like that before". BEFORE WHAT??????? It is like this every morning when I get up. Believe me, I look !

Maybe I'll just let him have the whole bed to himself and see how he likes that. Think that will change his tune???

OK OK, so I'm guilty of swiping covers. I don't do it on purpose, but I tend to roll back and forth all night, and with the rolling comes the covers which always end up on my side of the bed. I felt my hubby tugging at them this morning to reclaim at least enough to cover himself with. Poor guy. Wish I didn't sleep so restlessly. He was joking around this morning, he said "Good Morning Black Hole". Since I was half asleep I didn't get it at first, but then I knew what he meant. Sleeping next to me is like being in a black hole where the covers just seem to disappear never to be seen again (LOL). I really do feel bad about that especially 'cause we live in New England where winters can be very cold and it has been so cold the last few nights.

At least you feel bad about it 3tbear! He flips out at me over it. He sleeps in one position all night and doesn't move. He has the covers clenched tight under his chin too so there is no tugging. It somehow is my fault that he takes the covers...figure that one out.

We are in Minnesota and the furnace is set at 60 at night so without covers it is down right cold.

DH is a restless sleeper and usually ends up with all the covers. I fuss at him some, but I've never really gotten mad. I just take an extra blanket to bed for me! To me, life's too short to get mad about something he can't help (he's sleeping!) and that is so easily taken care of.

We don't fight over the covers, we fight over THE BED!! We have a queen, and we need a king, but we won't get it, because my DH made our headboard, and it won't accommodate a king. I designed it, he made it, out of steel rods, it's really cool, and I love it. BUT.....we'll have a queen-sized bed as long as we have that headboard.

My DH is ALL OVER THE BED when he sleeps. He doesn't even lay straight in it. He cocks his head to one side, then bends his body the other way, so he takes up ¾ of the bed. I'm constantly pounding on his butt, pushing feet away, shoving his back over. It doesn't make for very restful sleep.

Last night, when I got in bed, he was already there, and of course, I had to shove him over to his side, then when I got in, he accidentally KICKED my foot right on the top where I had bunion surgery 7 weeks ago!!! OUCH!!! I yelled, and you know what he said? "Stay on your own side of the bed!" I was so MAD. He did say he was sorry, though.

If my dogs are having a restless night you wouldn't want to be sharing the bed with them. Talk about HOGS! Not only for space but covers too. lol

Some nights I WISH dh would take all the covers....instead he sleeps in the middle of our queen-size bed and wraps himself around me....cozy BUT sometimes I have no room at all if I wiggle I am in danger of falling out of the bed.
But I have to say it sounds like you are all married to a bunch of "grumpy" selfish men. My guy is always willing to scoot over when I give him a little push and turn over when I need to lay on the other side (we spoon all night usually) and he just gives me a gentle prod if I start snoring so all is well......
All kids and dogs are banned from our bed.

I'm the quilty one, too. DH doesn't complain....he pays me back with all the talking and sometimes yelling that he does in his sleep!!
The funny thing is, he does not cuss...but man when he's sleeping he cusses a blue streak!!! And he kicks like he's fighting someone. I've been kicked pretty good a few times.

I hear that sista
Mikki (big fat cow as we affectionately call her) sleeps with us, I swear I haven't gotten a good night's sleep since we got her a year and a half ago.
BUT, there are advantages....who needs birth control when you've got a 65+ lb dog in between you
As far as covers go, we kinda just play tug of war doing the night LOL

I roll and toss and turn and twist and fall off the bed sometimes and I steal all of the covers and I like them bunched all around me. My bf is used to it but he still complains sometimes. I can not sleep in a straight line or stay in once place long. I have a queen size but it does not help. I have been like that since I was a kid. When I fall off the bed I don't know it until I wake up.

There are adjustable frames that go from a twin to a king size so you can use the same headboard. I have one that I just got and it is nice because when I find deals on matresses I can buy any size and it will work. But I never sleep on anything smaller than a standard.

Yes, but that won't work in this case. Here's a picture, so you know what I mean, and no, the walls aren't purple, they're blue, but they kinda look purple in this picture. My dad made the furniture you see there. He copied a Thomasville line, and made the whole bedroom suite for us for our 25th wedding anniversary.

I see what you mean. That is very pretty though. My spare bedroom has the same color blue on the walls and the carpet here is blue too. My house is done in blue and white. The only thing I can think of that might work is getting the king size frame and pulling it away from the headboard and then in the space between the bed and head board fill it with pillows or get a cart similar to the ones that fit between the washer and dryer and stick it between there and put pillows on top of that to cover it and you could get away with it. But you do have a tough space to work with. Good luck with it.

My DH is definitely a "cover hog"....lol....it drove me crazy when we were first married.....but, for me.....switching from a comforter to a bedspread helped tremendously.....now the only thing I will put on the bed is a bedspread....

btw....we have a FULL size bed.....and defintely need a bigger bed...lol...he is a "bed hog" too....but the rooms are small here....and no room for a queen or king....unless we got rid of some of the other furniture....
