| Ok..it wasn't as bad as I made it sound in the title, but you have to understand..I have always had this thing about fire. I always thought I'd die in a fire of some sort. Probably why when I cook I am constantly getting splattered with grease and such. I MAKE myself too nervous. Well...remember how we learned in Home Ec not to wear loose sleeves and such while cooking? We have a fireplace insert we heat with..I am one of those people that TOSS logs in instead of placing them because I'm afraid of getting burned. Imagine my surprise when I tossed a log in and with it went the attached tie on my robe!!!!!!! I'll tell you what, I can laugh about it now, but I was really freaked..I HAD to have looked like I had ants in my pants. Smacking it just made it worse and caused a few small burns on the rug also so I hurried off with it and smothered it w/ the rest of the robe. I can't wait for hubby to ask.."How was your day?" Wellllllllll Kenny...let's see.... LMBO! I admit, I was thinking I was going to fry my butt and destroy our home...but now I can't stop giggling at the thought of how I must have looked! LOL! Hmmmm...hope the fire burns slow, I'm a little leery of going back for more..LOL! **Edit** I must have been a little freaked because I left out some valuable VERBS when I typed this..LOL! __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links. | LMBO Kriss..LOLOLOL..yeah, I'm use to the small burns from the woodburner...even tho I "toss" the logs I some how manage to touch the rim at times. I don't think I could be trusted with Gas heat either..can you imagine if the pilot light would go out, even if it was an automatic type deal..I could still cause some harm, I just know it..LOL!

| Paula I am glad no serious damage was done. Take care. I burn myself regularly while baking and it hurts.

| When I first read the subject of this thread, I had visions of "Mrs. Doubtfire" running through my head. Remember the part where Robin Williams was cooking dinner, leaned over, and his boobs caught on fire? Then he puts it out with the pan lids? Anyway, glad you were ok....and I can relate to the "tossing" of logs...we have a woodstove, and I do the same thing! Although I did manage to touch the door the other day and got a burn on my hand. Seems like I am always burning myself cooking....DH doesn't let me have sharp knives either!!lol __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. | I did a double take when I read the title of your post, because just the other day, I set my self on fire too! I turned on the stove to heat some soup, and the flame shot up and my sleeve caught fire. I wasn't even wearing loose clothing. The flame just jumped up, and I looked down at my sleeve and it was burning! I also must have looked pretty silly, jumping around, and patting it. It didn't go out the first time, but after a few more pats, it went out. My heart didn't stop racing for an hour! __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. | Awww mouse, that is scary! Glad you got it out and are ok. Is there any particular reason why you have that fear that you will die in a fire? I was in a car fire a long time ago. Its very scary. __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

| Thanks folks! Today I believe was one of those "bad luck days". LOL! I had a little scare while driving also. Didn't hurt anyone or anything, but could have..UGH! LOL! The small village not far from me no longer PAYS to have someone plow the streets so sometimes the people of the community do it and sometimes they don't...well..the streets were pretty clear for the most part except for the center of town, where the only traffic (flashing) light is (still considered new..lol)..well, I went to turn and next thing I know the back end of my car just started going to the right. LUCKILY I ended up spinning right into a small parking area of a small business...funny thing is, someone's drive way connects to the same entrance which makes it even wider, the car spun completely around to the point when I stopped it looked like I was pulling out of the drive!!!! Lemme tell ya...I'd go through setting my robe on fire again than this! Geesh...I was a little afraid to move very far from the PC today because it seemed like I was playing with "fire" if I did, all pun intended..HA! Mayfly..I have never really had a BAD experience with fire...I just have always had this "fear" that I would perish in a fire or from the results of a fire. It's strange as heck I know, but I have felt this way for as long as I can remember. Ohhhhhhh how scary for you mayfly..I don't even want to try to imagine what that was like. __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

| Glad you're OK. Just don't go near the fire with anything fleece, highly flammable. So...what's your next trick LOL) Guess your DH is afraid to ask you "How was your day Dear"? We had a fire in our kitchen the other day, DH tried to heat up some soup, but there was grease underneath the burner which caught on fire, talk about being freaked out. The flames were really shooting up there. He finally got it out. __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] |

| Glad to hear it wasn't as serious as the title suggested! But like Loca... the first thing I thought of was your little dance this summer. ![]() |
