Angry my ebay grrrrr

I dont sell much on ebay but I had some of those Crayola Crayon makers that I got at a decent price and they seemed to be going real well on ebay so I put them up for sale. The first one sold and I sent a congrat note to the winner and asked for their addy and how they planned to pay. no response. a day or so later i sent another message. no response. i sent an ebay invoice. no response. so i decide to go through with the non-paying bidder alert and i emailed the winner letting them know what was happening and to contact me. no response. i then decide to leave negative feedback stating that "never responded to emails, never sent payment. stay away from!" A week later this person, who is still bidding on ebay, leaves me negative feedback saying to stay away from me!!!! I have 58 positives, 52 different people, and this one negative. I left the respond under it stating the person never responded to emails, invoice or nonpaying bidder but i feel this negative should be removed. a week after winner my item this person was still bidding so it isnt like they didnt have computer access. If they were just doing the bidding to get the hallmark second chance thing then email me and give me some sob story about not being able to afford it or finding it somewhere else cheaper. I would rather this than total ignoring and then negative feedback for both of us. I know ebay wont remove the feedback but i really find this unfair. I think if a person gets a nonpaying bidder alert they shouldnt be able to leave feedback on that item.

grrrrr, just had to vent. at least my other items sold relatively well, in fact so well i feel guilty about how much some people spent on an item that they could have gone to Toys r us to buy.

karen

I didn't even make it to 50 feedbacks b4 I got my first negative. LOL! I struggled BIG time with my decision to leave the neg. that I did and she of course retaliated with the same. This seller has slowly started getting negatives, but if ppl. would have been truthful in the first place I wouldn't have even made my first bid. I went back later and saw that many "thanks" (positives) were left like 2 months AFTER the auction ended. She had a problem with EXTREMELY slow shipping, IF ANY. I wish eBay would look into the complaints submitted and get rid of those neg. retaliatory feedbacks...they are of no good to anyone if they aren't truthful. Sorry to see your good start to making a reputable name at eBay has been tarnished..if it helps tho, I read the negatives and it's easy to tell when it's just childish BS.

I have 766 positives and 2 negatives. 2 neutrals, too, but those are my responses to the negatives. LOL.

I was devastated when I got my first negative. It was from this wacko lady who never paid, then, after I e-mailed the next highest bidder, she e-mailed and said that payment had been sent. Guess what? I NEVER received that payment.

The second negative was for a $4.00 watch that I gave measurements for and had a pic, then they decided 3 weeks after they received it, that it was too small for a man they had bought it for for Christmas. Geesh!!

Nothing you can do about people like that, but it makes you mad when you know you didn't do anything wrong and you shouldn't have that negative on your record!

Oooohhh...that kind of stuff makes me mad! I also got one negative that was retalitory. I bought a pair of ski bibs that arrived with a broken zipper. The seller had the nerve to suggest I broke the zipper when I tried them on. (I saw the broken zipper first....so NEVER even tried them on!)
Then she leaves feedback that says I made a false claim of damaged goods. I left a response saying it was her word against mine.
Grrrr......

This kind of thing really irks me too...there are people who just bid for fun, and that's really annoying...on the other hand, there are a lot of cool people I've met through selling on Ebay.

But in the long run, after factoring in the ebay fees, the aggravation, the guilt pressure of going to the post office, etc...I find it is much better for the heart and soul to just give my old stuff to charity. It's very freeing.

Hugs,
Darla

Re: my ebay grrrrr

a few years ago, I tried out buying a book on half.com or ebay, and, after getting the wrong book, left a negative feedback on the seller. Wish I could take it off, becuase seller did comunicate with me and did send me the right book after I complained (can't remember if they reimbursed me for the return shipping). I was new to the system and was upset and it took me years to get over the trust issue before bidding again. But now I understand the system and am a seller too. Being used to a system and having the point of view of a seller helps a lot. Now when i buy, i don't mind a few negatives on a sellers feedback score, as long as there are lots of positives. Welcome to retail on the web!

I agree Ive had non paying bidders and didnt post feedback bc i know if i leave them a neg I am getting one right back. I want to warn other sellers but not ruin my % either.
You can remove a negative thru ebay if bother seller & buyer agree.

Re: my ebay grrrrr

In the middle of bidding on a item my computer froze on me. Well i missed ths auction. So the item had no other bidders and i contacted seller. Long story short I sent her a check for the item and never received it. There is no recourse for me since I didnt' buy it while auction was active. At the time she had 100% positive and i thought i was safe. Live and learn.

Re: my ebay grrrrr

For sellers with problems with people that don't respond to emails, you have up to 90 days to leave feedback on an auction. Wait until the last minute to leave the negative feedback and then they can't retaliate because of the time restriction. Not very fair, I know, but with buyers leaving negative retalitory feedback just for spite and because of their own stupidity in not answering emails, it works. Seems strange that a buyer never responds to anything until you give them a negative feedback.
I find that its best not to leave negative feedback at all if there's a chance the other person will retaliate by leaving you negative feedback too. Even if it is their fault, they will do it back to you to make themselves look and feel better. I won't leave a negative feedback unless the other person does it to me first. It's kind of unfair for other buyers and sellers but with people so quick to leave a negative for getting a negative, even if they are at fault, it's better to just drop the whole thing.

Re: my ebay grrrrr

Yes ebay can be a scary place I have a detective who may be flying me to MI to testify against a man for ebay fraud. I had to file charges with the FBI found out I was not only there are ten other witnesses. FBI took his computer, and we are hoping he pleads guilty, With a new baby and busy life (and the fact I get nervous doing any public speaking, I would hate to have to testify.) But this guy got $2,000. of my dollars and I'm not letting him get away with it. Funny thing, when I contacted him regarding his merchandise he had a few hundred positive feedbacks?!!? You never know when someone is going to rip you off.

Re: my ebay grrrrr

I don't leave negative feedback for non paying bidders until AFTER I've gone all the way through the process & have received a refund on my fees. I've only had to do this twice and the second one was removed by eBay before I could leave the negative as I was the third seller to follow all the way through on the NPB process.

rafala, if you didn't follow through to get your fees refunded, you should do so. This way, the NPB will get a pop up reminder every time they try to bid on eBay. Remember, it's NOT negative feedback that eBay pays attention to - it's the filing for return of your fees!

Also, you can leave feedback after the 90 days are up - as long as the auction is still in their system, you can do it. I once left feedback for someone 122 days after the end of the auction, so I know it can be done.

Oh...good advice. I didn't know this happened to NPBs.
