How organized are your kitchen cabinets?

I was at a friends house the other day, and was looking for a drinking glass. I couldn't believe how organized her cabinets are!!! Everything was in it's own little tupperware container, perfectly arranged.

I try to get organized, but it seems like it falls back into disarray within a few weeks.

Mine aren't too bad. I need to get rid of "extras" that just take up space. My tupperware cabinet is the worst because there are so many bowls and misc items that only get used once in a while thrown in there. My kids unload the dishwasher and shove everything plastic in that cabinet. The rest of the cabinets are pretty organized. I also have a junk drawer that is so unorganized that I rarely look in there for anything. Was just thinking today that that drawer will be a good project for after xmas.

We have older cabinets since our house is older so they are shallow which means boxes must be layed flat, but then they tend to stick out of the cabinets, especially something like cereal boxes. We've learned to live with it. Hubby keeps saying he's going to replace them, but that was over a year ago. Guess we'll use what we have for the time being. I would like bigger cabinets, I never seem to have enough room for everything in there.

I've been organizing them for the last week. All except for the tiny one above the stove, all are very organized. Everytime I organize them they get messed up. This time if someone messes them up I'll strangle them!

Mine aren't too bad.

For Christmas a couple years back DH had a pantry built for me to keep the food (roll-out shelves and everything!). Before that was done, there wasn't much room for all my tupperware and what-not.

I do need to get in there and organize again - maybe after the holidays.

ooooo Shainie! That sounds nice!

I have a lot of cupbards, somewhere in the neighborhood of 27. Is that average? I don't know, but I do know that stuff is all jumbled in most of them.

The plate cupbard is nice though-lol

This usually applies to me as well, but we've got too much stuff and not enough space. When my parents were visiting last week, my mom took a lot of our old Rubbermaid containers, so I have more room for all my Tupperware.

I think I'll have to bite the bullet and get rid of a lot of the extra kitchenwares that I've been saving "in case I need" and haven't used in years (if ever).

I've been working on taking on one cabinet or closet or drawer per day, throwing out anything unnecessary or out of date, or sorting stuff for garage sale or donation.

I'm really working on decluttering.

If you are interested in this, check out [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] and get on her Yahoo group, it is a great motivator!!!

We totally remodeled our kitchen last year. I have a lot of cabinets, but I also put in a lot of deep drawers. All the pots and pans are arranged with their lids on them (stainless in one drawer, pyrex in another). Tupperware has its on drawer too with a special area for the lids to line up. The dishes and spices are great; my most unorganized area is the pantry where the actual food is!
