| Well, bad thing is we have 5 boxes of clothing that is soaked and we don't know if it can be saved or not. Hubby loaded it up to take home and we will launder it tonight. <sigh> Several boxes of hangers also got soaked but that is no big deal. The worse thing is the furnace is wet and the roof is still leaking so I can't heat the store. It is 60 degrees in here now and I am already sick so why not make me go into pneumonia!? <sigh> better yet is the kids (both of them) will be with me tomorrow at the store and they sure can't stay here inthe cold......the temps are suppose to drop by tonight so I know it will only get worse. We tried to suck up the water and it is coming down faster than we can keep it sucked up. So finally hubby gave up. We have called the landlord 3 times and still no answer.....we left messages and I am betting she is ignoring us. We had to close the store this morning and Bill wanted me to keep it closed and wait here and see if she calls but I decided to open the store but I can't accept anything since my storage room is leaking. That will probably make some people mad. Our insurance expired so we have NO coverage! But it doesn't matter anyway.....the policy we had didn't cover this type of damage/loss anyway. And if you all remember I told you how much it increased and we couldn't afford it so we were going to wait until we could save the money to re-new it. So.....looks like I am taking a loss whether I like it or not. Bill has decided we are definitley going to move if the landlord doesn't do something. We have just fixed too many things around here and we can't afford to keep doing that. besides.....we are renting this building. Since she is the owner she should make the repairs....right?

| Well, the landlord finally called. Bill told her to come down here. She didn't want to so she sent her son. (Our landlord is over 80 and her son is in his 60's) He came down here and saw the leak and went next door and saw their leak also. (It just so happens that their storage room is also leaking profusely!) He called someone who said they can't do anything until the rain stops so supposedly once it stops raining they will come down here and see what needs to be done......hubby told him they need to put on another roof. Whether or not they will who knows. Now the furnace isn't working since it is in water. The stupid landlord's son told me to turn it on anyway. I argued with him since I didn't want to chance it shorting out and starting a fire or something. So he turns it on and of course, it wasn't working. Hubby told him it wouldn't work since the pilot light was put out from the water coming down on it. He didn't believe him so hubby took him back there. Eventually he made the decision to call someone who is to come here tomorrow at 9 am and get it working again. I think that is all......oh, almost forgot! One of the radio stations we underwrite with came by and helped us out.....they even returned our monthly payment to them! They said they felt the Lord was moving them to do that since we had this unfortunate disaster and they wanted to help us. Now that was a blessing! ![]() __________________ [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

| You poor thing, and no insurance? Not a good scenario. Guess you would have needed flood insurance. I don't know if it is pricey where you live, but it sure is where we live. We have it 'cause we live near the shore. Hope you guys can salvage most of the clothing. Suds and water can do wonders. Hang in there guys, things will get better soon. __________________ Check out these [Only registered and activated users can see links.
