We had carolers at our door last night!

You know, it is usually very cold in Minnesota at this time of year so caroling outdoors is pretty rare. Who wants to stand outside freezing and who wants to hold the door open to listen when it's freezing cold? Our weather has been strangely warm and no snow as of yet. Last night we had a large group of carolers at our door which was so nice! I was bumming that I didn't have cookies to give out...They quickly moved down the street stopping at houses with lights on. It was neat. My younger kids didn't have a clue why they were singing like that! I guess they haven't seen any carolers in their young years. They said they had seen some on tv, but never in real life!! LOL

Another rare sight for December...my neighbors were playing baseball in the field yesterday!

I love carolers, unfortunately, I have never had any at my door. I can remember when I was a youngster, that we went with a church group caroling around the area. We'd get cookies and cocoa at nearly every door!

It does not feel much like winter, much less Christmastime, here in Minnesota right now. As a native Minnesotan, I grew up having lots of snow on the ground by this time of year. Things sure have changed over the years. My poor kids can't even use their sleds or snowboards yet!

I went to my dh's company Christmas party at the St. Paul Hotel (very fancy place) last night and we parked a few blocks away, so we could walk and look at all the lights, instead of using the valet parking. We barely needed to have a coat on. I had on my good leather dress coat and was almost too warm in it!!

Don't get me wrong, I like the warmth, but I definitely miss the snow too. It just isn't Christmas in Minnesota without the snow!

It looks like, according to the long-range forecast, we may be getting some snow by around Wednesday or so...YAY!!!!!

That's so nice to hear! We've never had carolers and I agree that it's something that a lot of young kids would find surprising.

My DS's school band members are caroling around the school each day during their normal practice period. They go to a few classrooms each day and play Christmas songs. Nice idea!

Cool! You'd never see carolers in our neighborhood in a million years.

I wish we had carolers in our neighborhood, that would be so nice. I don't think many people do that anymore. That would really make the holiday brighter.
