DOD MEMBER COMING OVER TONIGHT, GUESS WHO????

It's (drumroll please) sblme28. I ordered some handmade ornaments from Jessica (she's VERY crafty!) and she is hand delivering them. She lives in the next town over

Spoke to her on the phone last night, can't wait to meet her in person! Get to meet her boyfriend too (hope I don't drool too much)

It'll be nice to meet a fellow DoD'er

LOL...I was gonna post that I was coming over tonight, but ya beat me to it!

I can't wait to finally meet you either...should be GREAT!

Just hope I don't get lost...but I think I know exactly where your live (I think my Mom's friend lives right across the street).

Hi maryrob

I've been in Meriden for the past 3 1/2 yrs. Spent the first 7 yrs of my life in Newington but have also lived in New Haven and Hamden (prior to moving here). sblme28 is in Wallingford but grew up here in Meriden

Well, may I just say that Jessica is an absolute doll!!! Felt as if we had known each other for years, not at all uncomfortable! She is so pretty, she's gotta have the nicest hair

You think she's sweet here on the boards? That's nothing compared to in person....She's a beautiful person inside and out!
Her boyfriend David was with her, talk about a sweetie pie! They make a great couple!
Of course Matthew (our soon-to-be 5 yr old) was a ham, he's very outgoing (takes after his mommy, LOL). He "read" his 5 Little Monkeys book to Jess and David, whereas Steven (8 1/2) BARELY mustered a HELLO

Of course Mikki (our 65+ lb pitbull mix) loved the company/attention

The ornaments that Jess made are exquisite! And here she thought I'd be disappointed.........NO WAY! I know the recipients will love them!
Hmmmmm, wonder if it is it too early to place my order for next year LOL

Jess, I enjoyed meeting you (both).
Sincerest thanks for the hard work that went into making the ornaments, I'm very grateful.

Please do not hesitate to call me. I'd love to keep in touch!

Sounds like you two had a great time getting to know one another

I know where Meriden is...its a distance from Danbury,but I still visit a good friend who lives in Seymour,which is southwest of Meriden. CT is a great state & I miss it. Sounds like you both made fast friends.Can you tell I'm wishing I was there with you guys?

It was AWESOME!!!!

We were running a bit late. Dinner ran late at home and then I kinda zoned out when I was driving there. See...when I drive on 15, I'm usually only on there to go to 91 or to the mall (691) so I got on 691 by accident instead of staying on 15 so I had to backtrack. Called Naomi to make sure I wasn't TOO late...SO SORRY NAOMI!...lol

When I got there, she was peeking out the door (she prolly heard my car from a mile away...I BADLY need a new muffler). She came out to greet us (she gave me a big hug!). We went inside to meet the rest of the family. Met Charlie. Saw Matthew smile then run into his room shyly. Micky came and greeted us with doggy hugs (she's so cute!!!). Stephen was in his room playing video games.

Naomi gave me a tour of the house while my bf talked to Charlie about different towns in CT (both Naomi and Charlie said my bf looked farmiliar and my bf said the same thing about them...lol...Naomi...you must know him from Hamden or from Walgreens somehow). Let me just tell you...their condos is REALLY NICE. Naomi makes it sound like a tiny little cubby, but it's not AT ALL!!! It's so nice! Big upstairs, big downstairs, nicely decorated, and CLEAN!!!! I can't believe w/ two kids how neat it was. My two brother's trash our house (or course we do pick up for company to fool them...lol).

Soon after our arrival, Matthew warmed right up to us. He was showing me his toys and his dinosaur magnets from the fridge. That kid is SOOOOO cute! He's such a ham! He was playing a version of hide and seek with me while I was talking to Naomi.
We talked about where we used to live, our families, DOD (of course...lol), and just a bunch of things in general.

Towards the end of our visit, Stephen started to be a bit less shy joining us in the kitchen. He showed us some of his Yu-Gi-Oh stuff. He's so cute too...the boys are the spitting image of their parents!

Matthew "read" us his monkey book which was so cute...he knew the WHOLE thing by heart...lol!

I think we got the boys riled up cause they DID NOT want to go to bed...sorry about that...lol. I don't think they wanted our visit to end...lol.

It was not akward at all. I wasn't really even worried about meeting Naomi. It did feel like we've know each other forever. It was just so nice to finally meet her. She is even nicer in person! And very complimentary (my hair looked like crap yesterday...but she said it looked nice...lol). Naomi is a beautiful person and great mom, with a big heart and a wonderful family. It was great to meet her and I look forward to hanging out with her again!

THANKS! It was great. I'll let you know all about Cabaret tonight...just hope the ice isn't TOO bad.

David had a great time. He's shy when meeting people sometimes, but he said you guys were great. He thought Matthew was a riot. He gets along so well with my brother Robby who acts just like Matthew...him and Robby could play together for HOURS at a time...lol. David LOVES kids and he thought both the boys were very cute.

Glad you liked the ornaments!

I have lots of friends in Danbury and in Ny just over the CT line. So, I know exactly where it is.

With all the DOD members in CT and given the fact that CT is so small...we should have a DOD get together!
