I was JUST talking to Tiggs about the "flicking cigarette butts out the window" the other day. We only smoke outside and I JUMP on anyone who even throws one in my driveway! LOL! I can't stand to see a butt tossed from a car..flick your ashes out the window if ya want, but not the butt.

Some adults feeling the need NOT to say "excuse me" or what have ya to a child. I get this a lot!!!! If my kids have to say excuse me, pardon me etc...then adults should also!!! I TOTALLY wanna flip out when one of my boys stands at the door holding it open for someone behind him and they go right through w/o a simple thank-you! UGH! My kids also know if they are first in line to walk in front of someone, then they say excuse US instead of just excuse me.

People not driving at least within 2 miles of the speed limit (ex.: if the speed limit is 55, don't drive below 53).

luvstoshopalot...EXACTLY!!! My hubby is even guilty of this..I have a migraine, his is MUCH worse. I have a backache, his whole body hurts..UGH UGH UGH UGH!
LMAO @ jeskibuff!!!!

I have done the distraction thing at the traffic light..LOL! Not on purpose, I just now and then will "zone". LOL!

People who won't turn right on red!!!!!!!

People who allow their kids to ride in the car w/o a seatbelt. Nothing like seeing kids running around the back seat playing a "harmless" game of tag! UGH!

People CONSTANTLY not having their checks at least partly written out before the cashier gives their total.

Oh so many things!

jeskibuff-LOL at your number 10. Had that happen before, so incrediably annoying. Also your number 11, hate that, but it's even worse when you sit there and sit there behind them, finally honk at them and they give you the finger!

-People giving you the finger if you honk at them for doing something wrong. In the town I commute to everyday the people love to give the finger more than any other town I've driven in.

-The shoppin cart thing of course. Good thing my cars a tough little thing and hasn't been dented with a shopping cart yet (I've came outside a gazillion times to find them against my car).

-The left lane thing. Some was doing that this morning driving everybody crazy. Some days I wish I was in a tank, I'd just go right over them LOL.

-I've had someone honk at me to hurry up and pull out of a space. Made me mad so I just sat there till they got mad, gave me the finger, and speed off. I was in the first space in an aisle right at the mall doors at Christmas (can't believe I lucked up and got that space in the first place) so I know why they wanted that space, but they didn't have to honk.

-People who can't hang their clothes back up in the dressing room. I not only hang mine up, but go hang them back on the correct rack instead of leaving them at the dressing room rack at the dressing room door. I'm not asking for that but the least they could do is not leave them on the dressing room floor. Always when Kohls is having a big sale I have to wade through like fifty pieces of clothing just to get into the dressing room. I feel like I should be shopping in the dressing rooms, half of what I want is probably laying all over the floor.

-People who let their kids open toys or stuff in the store, SEE that they're kid did it, but don't buy the item. If I'd ever opened anything in the store when I was little (at least old enough to know better) they would have bought the item, THEN they would have killed me for opening it.

Also, how about the ones that DO use their ash tray, but find it convenient to empty them on the pavement while sitting at a red light? My solution? A special vacuum unit that sucks up and stores cigarette butts in a tank within my car. Then when I catch one of these violators in action, I signal them to roll down their windows, whereupon, I hit the switch to run the vacuum "in reverse", emptying my tank full of cigarette butts into their passenger compartment!

2) Like many have already said, people who don't know there are other lanes besides the left lane to drive in.

3) People who drive distracted, with pets on their lap, cell phone in hand, stuffing a burger in their mouths, etc.

4) People who step out of a bathroom stall and head straight for the exit door without washing their hands. Especially disgusting when restaurant workers (cooks) do it.

5) People who sit at a traffic light, again distracted. The light turns green, but they aren't looking, so they don't move until they hear a beep from behind. Once they get underway, they are one of 2 or 3 cars that get to go through the light before it turns red and makes everyone else sit through another long cycle.

6) People who change lanes without signalling.

7) People who turn onto a highway, unable to stay within their lane designations. For instance, two lanes able to turn right onto a highway and the car in the outside (rightmost) lane makes a sloppy turn, creeping into the inside (leftmost) lane during the turn. Nevermind that there's other cars in that lane.

8 ) People who purposely close a gap when you turn your signal on, essentially politely showing your intent to change lanes. They don't want you to get in front of them.

9) People who drive their shopping carts WITHIN a store the way they drive their cars. They come out of an aisle without caring that you're walking past the aisle at the same time. They stop right in the middle of high traffic areas instead of trying to get out of the busy areas.

10) People who run "interference". You're trying to get from point A to point B and you've got a whole family of "widetracks" that are plodding along, blocking the entire aisle. The moment you see an opportunity to break free from this roadblock, they close it back up, sandwiching you between their cart and a shelf full of pickle jars!

11) People who don't know how to merge in traffic, stopping traffic behind them while they wait for an open spot to come along in their desired lane. This is similar to the idiots who come to a complete stop in a traffic lane while deciding which fork of the road they should take. Or maybe the idiots who back up on a busy highway to get back to the exit they just missed.

12) How about screaming car salesmen commercials? Ambulance-chasing-lawyer commercials?

13) Buying something online with a rebate and once it arrives, going back online to find the rebate, only to find it has disappeared.

Well, that should suffice as my FIRST installment! Sorry you asked, now?

Wow, way too many to list LOL

Cannot stand when you're driving and a car that's parallel parked along the curb opens their driver's side door into traffic , I've almost clipped a few doors

People that don't feel the need to RSVP, Matthew's b-day party is Sunday and invitations were handed out last week (RSVP deadline of 12/6). Here it is 12/11 and I've yet to hear from about 1/4 of his class, GRRRRRR

People that think the world owes them something, GET OVER IT

Invitations to this demonstration and that demonstration, Pampered Chef, PartyLite, etc etc.....HATE THEM

E-mails with a zillion forwards, LEARN TO COPY/PASTE PEOPLE

People that forward all of these stupid chain letters,etc.....do the words INTERNET HOAX ring a bell?

2-faced people, prefer people that keep it real! With me it's what ya see is what ya get!

OK, enough for now...........more soon

Smoking in Restaurants

I am so glad it is against the law now! Sorry for all you smokers, I just really would never impose this on anyone so I dont know why non-smokers had to deal with such an unhealthy habit.

OH YES, i hear ya on that one, i really do...i work with 2 PEOPLE just like that, it drives me NUTS!!!

k, here's a few more of mine:

constantly being reminded that you are "too young" to know ANYTHING (i'm 26 with a husband and 2 children for cripes sake!! i think i know a thing or 2 about a thing or 2 dangit)

people not saying hi or acknowledging a child when the child says hi or whatever to them, that drives me NUTS to the point where i'll say something LOL...

teachers who don't tell you the whole story, or won't bother to find out the whole story..

2 FACED LYING FAKE PEOPLE...i would rather have someone tell me EXACTLY how they feel about me or something i've done than talk about me behind my back, make stuff up, and then pretend like they just "love" me so much grrrr that's a HUGE pet peeve of mine as well...there's a difference in being polite and civil and another entirely to pretend like you're someone's friend when you'd rather see them choke or something...(yep, something i've dealt with recently so still just a little bitter about it lol)....

people who don't put their children in seatbelts, i can't stand that either...

people who pretend like THEIR children are the most ANGELIC wonderful children in the world and NEVER do A THING wrong...

attorneys who talk to legal assistants etc (anyone else who is not an attorney) like they are drooling stupid scummy idiots...

SPAM

missing a freebie or deal

everything traffic related (i HATE driving sometimes lol)...

anyone not flushing the toilet or washing hands...

grinding teeth...

hubby asking me 600 times in a freakin row "are you coming to bed are you coming to bed reyoucomingtobedareyoucomingtobed" ARRRRRGHHHHH i'll be there when i get there!!!!!!!!

sweetiris, i have the same pet peeve about dressing rooms too, half the time i DO shop in there, gosh i hate that!!!

i'm sure there's more (LOL, seems like lately everything gets on my nerves) but these are the ones that come to mind....

Thought of another one

It really upsets (family friendly site) me when people use the word "retard" or "retarded" to describe something. For example "She acted so retarded" ........
Sorry, although I never completed college I did study special education (have been involved with the Special Olympics, etc) and it really upsets me, GRRRR

It used to be hard butter, but there are a lot more important things now.

I agree with just about every pet peeve written here, and I would like to add -

People who chit-chat on their phones in restaurants. It seems five or six are ringing all the time and I can hear every conversation.

Women who drive and apply mascara and makeup, looking in the mirror at the same time.

People who hurry to pass me, only to cut right in front of me to take the next exit.

Drivers who hit the brakes every time a car goes by them on the opposite side.

Drivers who turn to the middle of the road to go past a parked car.

Gee, I have many more, but I'm sure others will come up with the same ones so I'll save some space for the next post.

Parents who allow there children to cry and fuss and grab at the candy in the checkout line. Then the parents ask the children if they want a spanking!? Like the kid is going to say sure mom, spank me! LOL I have very low tolerance for children in public places. I hate that I feel that way, but sometimes you just can't help it!

People who stare!!

People who get gas at a gas station, you are waiting behind them and they don't move their car so you can get gas. Instead, they go in to pay, then shop for 20 minutes LOL

People who drive with their brights on! Or people who drive with their fog lights on and it's not even foggy!

People who drive with their foot out the window...I mean what if there was a head on collision??

I have to giggle a bit at the gas station one since in Oregon self - serve is illegal and rarely can you pay outside at the pump! You have no choice but to go in and pay (so you will shop for that 20 minutes and make them more money on chips and soda lol).
In cases of people with small children or disabled, the attendants will go out of their way to take your money in for you and they are installing more of those debit/credit card machines at the pumps, but we are still denied the choice of self serve if we want it. No one can say why that law was passed either LOL!!! Its like the Easter Bunny.... just a total mystery LOL

First a couple rebuttals:
If you are going the speed limit there is nothing wrong with driving in the left lane. Totally legal in my state. Why make it easier for people to break the law?
And the parking thing. This time of year a little patience is called for if you want to go shopping. Many times someone has been waiting and waiting for a space to come open. I have no problem with someone waiting for my space as I unload my cart. I do not speed up or slow down, just get the job done and give a friendly wave as I drive away. Luck of the draw if you are caught behind someone waiting for a space. Cooperation and patience and everyone does fine.

My pet peeve is rude people. You are under no obligation to like someone, but I feel it is your responsibility to be polite.

I like the "take a cart back" as you enter a store idea. I already put away an extra one whenever possible. I think I will try to find errant carts to take in from now on.

Why not just move over when an opening comes up, letting them by and let the police enforce the laws? By blocking them, you may be festering their anger and cause them to do stupid things, like tailgate or turn their brights on, which may adversely affect you. If you can't move over, that's a different story.

I've got a few for you:

People who are narrow minded.

People who think they are smart, but are really stupid and can't see it.

Bossy people.

People who use their cell phones while driving and don't look when they change lanes, turn corners. I have to watch out for them!

Cigarettes thrown out of car windows, yep, big pet peeve.

People who bring more than 10 or 12 items through the quick check at the grocers. Ugh, that really irritates me.

Another one that gets my goat is people (mostly women) who leave their carts in the middle of the grocery aisle while they traipse off looking for something in another area.

Women who let their children open packages of cookies or snacks when shopping, and then not paying attention to when they are tossing most of them on the floor. They also try to get past the cashier without paying for them.

Pulling up to the drive-through window at a bank, then sitting patiently for your turn as someone pulls up behind you, effectively trapping you. Then you figure out the car(s) in front of you are doing some complicated transactions that need management intervention and you sit quietly fuming as you watch all the other drive-through lanes get processed as if they were on an assembly line.

Watching someone poke their finger through the protective wrap on a food item (fish, in one case) so they could smell if it was fresh. Then when it doesn't meet their approval, they place it back in the cooler.

Sitting at a traffic light while some other bozos nearby have the stereo system in their 1978 Honda Civic blasting frequencies from their "tricked out" stereo system strong enough to tip a cow! And you're supposed to be impressed with their stupidity and rudeness?
