Red face Just started my Christmas shopping

Bought a Tiffany lamp for my sister and BIL, a winter jacket for my DH, didn't even have to leave the house, did it all online. It's a start, now I just have to think of what to buy my mom, and a few other little gifts for everyone to make it festive. My nephew just wants games for his Playstation, he's actually easy to buy for this year.

Anyone else start their shopping yet?

I started mine this past summer. This is the first time I started so early, picked out most of the gifts at my favorite online stores, sat back and waited for them to go on sale. One thing about online shopping: if you wait long enough almost everything can be bought on sale. The exception is dried lavender bundles that I'm about to order online from a lavender farm. Besides that, I've been pricing a particular Coleman lantern and that will be it. I'll be finished before Thanksgiving, which is a major accomplishment for a chronic procrastinator. Instead of fighting the dreaded Mall crowds, I'll be able to fully decorate my house, which I never seemed to have time for in the past.

I learned a lesson last year when a tooth abscessed on December 1st, when I traditionally started my Christmas shopping. My periodontist tried his best to avoid an extraction, gave me tons of antibiotics for three weeks and I was sick through Christmas. From a stupid tooth. I remember sitting in the middle of the living room floor crying because I was too sick to put up the tree, but I had to or I wouldn't have one. Soooo... not only did I discover it's possible to order every gift and a tree online, but I resolved to start shopping much earlier this year.

I started my Christmas Shopping on Halloween. I put a bunch of things on layaway - all of it but one DVD was for the kids. With the exception of the ever so illusive Rescue Heroes Aquatic Command Center and the amazing disappearing Fashion Polly Sparkle Style House, I'm happy to say, I am DONE shopping for the kids. Now if they could just have those two toys in stock when I get to the store AND have money, I'll be good to go. And if I don't find them.. Well, I'll be in a heap of trouble with my kids.

As for everyone else, well, as usual, I never get to them until I finish getting the kids' presents. It just sort of happens that way. I did get one DVD for my hubby. Hey! It's a start!

Just starting? Nooo... I'm just about done! Now I just have to get it all wrapped & tagged so I'm not doing it on Christmas Eve.
