Question Favorite toy growing up

We just saw Santa Clause 2, there is a scene where Santa gives all the adults toys from their childhood. Do you remember any favorites from your childhood?

My favorites were a strawberry shortcake doll I had, loved her. Also a light bright, and some weird doll that ate food. My friend had Operation, and I was sooo jealous! I also had Weeble Wobbles tree house, and fisher price hospital. Love the hospital cuz it had an elevator that really went up and down, and when it hit the top floor a bell dinged-lol!

I had a pretty baby doll named Cathy. I loved that doll, but I also took good care of her. After I outgrew her, I put her away in a safe place. When my favorite cousin saw it, she loved it, too. So I gave it to her and she enjoyed it while she had it. Who knows where that darn doll is now, probably in doll heaven. My aunt and the kids went to Mexico and a little neighbor girl wanted the doll, so my aunt gave it to her. She explained to my cousin that the girl's family has no money and the little girl would probably never have a doll of her own.

Mine was a doll. Now it was not your ordinary doll.
I called him daddy long legs.
He was a stuffed doll, he was a football player.
He had a purple jersey(sp)black pants and striped legs.
they were red and white striped, with black shoes.
He had these really long leg about 3 feet.
He went everywhere with me I could tie his legs around my waist.
He rode horses with me and was my best friend.
I wore him out. Poor guy!!!
I loved my daddy long legs.

Re: Favorite toy growing up

Oh my. I have tons of favorites.

My sister had that Fisher Price Hospital. I loved it, but she never let me play with it. She also had the Little People Airplane, which she also never let me play with.

I had the Fisher Price City or town or whatever it was called. I loved that Stop light with the springy post on it. I used to love pulling it back and then letting go - watching it go 'doi-ing'. My mom hated it when I did that. And I had the Fisher Price Little People Farm too. I loved those barn doors that said "MOO" when you opened them!

I also had all but one of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls, along with the Snail cart (Escargo), the carosel, and the Butterfly and I had tons of the minatures.
I had the Care Bears too. What a shocker to see them back in the stores! ROFL! I can't believe it.
Then there's my dolls. I loved Mandy. I thought she was the greatest. She went on all trips with me. I had 3 Ballerina dolls too, and I'd put on dance recitals for them. And then my Madame Alexander dolls... I had a bunch. I wasn't allowed to play with the little ones but I was allowed to play with the bigger ones. I had Pussycat, Pudding and Mary-something. They cried when you turned them upside down and their eyes closed when you laid them down.
My other favorites were my big Tonka Construction Trucks, Star Wars Figures and Hotwheels & Matchbox cars. My favorite car was my Batmobile! I was a huge fan of Batman. My mother has pictures of me dressed up in sunglasses, an apron for a cape and some funky plastic dress up shoes. Can you guess who I was pretending to be? BATGIRL!!! ROFL!!!!!!

Oh! I had a train set too. A wooden one that you winded up and it went around a blue plastic track. It's at my mom's house and believe it or not, still works!

Hmmmm... what else? Fashion plates - I loved those and I also had some Greeting Card Maker and a Muppets Rubbing Plates set too. And I was really big on puzzles. My favorite one was the Spiderman puzzle my Grandmother gave me. I've still got that around here somewhere. Come to think of it, I've got everything I've mentioned but those Tonka Trucks. <grumble grumble> Mom sold them at a yard sale <grumble grumble>. Ah.. no biggie. I'm not mad, really.......

Ohhhhh I loved the rubbing plates..I gotta go see if mine is still in the attic..it was the one for the greeting cards..I think it was pink?? It had the little drawer to put in the templates. I loved ANYTHING to do with writing and drawing. I was a happy camper with all kinds of paper, pencils, markers, crayons etc...I still am, I am a stationery/office supply addict!! I remember my Uncle Pillow (his name is Butch, but he is a VERY hefty man and hugging him was like hugging a pillow! lol) gave my sister and I a BIG roll of those brown paper towels that were in most restroom for us to doodle on...I was in hog heaven!!!!!

Spirograph was another cool "accessory"!

I loved dolls and Barbies, but only to make their clothes and homes! LOL! Give me a sack of material and a card board box and I was thrilled. I guess I liked using my imagination.

I was such a tomboy...I loved catching the toads, frogs, snakes, moles, mice, etc...anything I could chase down. LOL!

My brother (who's 30) had one of those little handheld electronic football games, where the players are just little dashes (lines) and you try to move them to the endzone without the opposing "dashes" getting yours.

Anyway, Target was selling the EXACT ones and I found them on clearance!!! I was SO happy!!! I bought one for about 2 bucks (normally about 13) for his 5 year old son. Of course I really got it for my brother though.

OMG was I sheltered lol

I dont really recall having a favorite toy. I kinda think I wasnt into toys. I know I had lots because I remember my dad always telling me to go in and stir my toys around in my room ( only a path to the bed).
The only thing I remember doing as a child and loving it was playing outside. I was always in the woods at the streams, Up in a tree, making a fort in woods or in snow.
So I guess my favorite toys was the outdoors. lol
I can remember contstantly building things with stuff from nature. Furnature for my woolybears out of mud lol. huts from tree branches with a moss floor, even stone houses from old stone walls. lol you name it I was trying to make it. HMMM maybe I should of been a construction worker. lol

Yeppers.... that's the one! It had a brown bottom with a pink top to it and the plates were all pink. I used to make the cards, color them and then open up a Greeting Card store in my room, where my Dad actually bought the cards from me for $0.05! LOL!!!
I gave this to Michelle, but I kinda wish I hadn't. She's very destructive and messy and I can't find all the templates to it.

I had a ton of the Strawberry Shortcake dolls and accessories. I guess you could say they were my favorite doll. I still collect them today. Of course I have almost all the Strawberry Shortcake stuff except for a couple of dolls that now sell for $150+ OUT of the box and without accessories. I just can't afford to get them right now.

I also loved My Little Ponies (I always called them Pretty Ponies, never could remember their real name when I was little), Rainbow Bright, Lady Lovely Locks, and Get-A-Long Gang.

Had to edit, I forgot about my sister's Milky the Moo Cow (or some name like that), she was the greatest toy. Also playdough.

I LOVED lady lovely locks. It's so good to know others loved her too. Alot of people my age said they have never heard of her...she was my favorite! I had tons of her stuff...dolls, pets, clothes...TONS of pixie tails, the castle, videos, etc. I left the box of lady lovely locks out in the rain and they all got moldy...I was TORN UP! I found a pixie tail a few days ago in a box of memorabilia...it was nice to find that.

I also loved the popples and fraggle rock toys.

I had lots of those little people toys too. The barn, the city, the parking garage and the plane...I LOVED those toys.

One of my prized possesions is a cabinet my grandfather made for me. At first it held my doll clothes, but shortly after it held all my art supplies. Man would he be shocked if he were still alive today to see how my art stuff now takes up half of the basement...lol.

Another prized possession is a doll house my grandfather made for me. Then, my dad put electrical wiring in it so it could have working lights. We still have it although I don't use it...it's in the basement waiting for me to have a girl of my own one day to pass it on to.

I didn't have many toys when I was a kid because we were kinda poor.
But I do remember a Velvet doll, or a Chrissy...the tall blonde doll whose hair you could make longer or shorter by turning the knob on her back.
Once my aunt sent me a Dawn doll with clothes and I was thrilled.
I remember a few barbies and stuffed animals.
I grew up on a farm, so I spent lots of time outside too....exploring, playing with animals, ect.

Ummmm..speaking of those dolls with the "growing hair"..uhhh..I had a more generic version (I think it was just the head on a base that came w/ make-up) I got mad one day, pulled the hait out to the max and cut it off! LOL!

My older sis had the Chrissy doll and our brother cut all of her fingers off! LOL! I use to think that was such a pretty doll.

No, it wasn't that one. We were poor folks. lol It was just a regular doll.

ooh, I just remembered another. It was from the Strawberry Shortcake collection. You squeezed her tummy and her breath smelled like angel cake... duh, that's the name of the doll, too! I almost forgot. I don't know what happened to that one. I used to take care of all my toys, so it HAS to be around somewhere.
