Talking The Christmas Tree Shop is just the best...

Despite how rotten the weather was outside with the rain and the wind, a friend and I decided to go shopping. It was our first time at that Christmas Tree Shop. It took us about an hour to drive there, we must have gotten there around 1pm but left more like 5. That place was absolutely packed inside we kept bumping into people. I got a ton of great X'mas gifts for the people I work with and a really cute stained glass panel to hang in a window for my sister and BIL, just $5.00. Can you believe it? I was in shock! Their prices are just unbelievable! If it wasn't raining so hard, I would have considered purchasing a floor lamp as a gift, $80.00, but really nice. Looked like it cost alot more.

In the same mall is an A.C. Moore, also another craft store where I found the Boyd's bear I'd been looking for since last year and just had to have it for my collection. There was also a 99 cent store and I did very well there. Nothing was over 99 cents like some 99 cent stores. Got some great CD holders as gifts, a glass paperweight for my other collection. Also checked out a store called CFO outlet, they sell clothes. Had a full day, feet were tired, glad to get home. Oh yeah, and bought DH 2 lbs of fudge, which I'm sure he will share with me, well, he better (LOL).

I'm sure I'll be returning to the Christmas Tree store soon, it was well worth the trip.

I love it too! Did you go to the one in orange 3t?

I always go to AC Moore when I go to the Christmas tree shop.

Before I starting my bf, I didn't go that often since I had to drive past Hartoford to get to the only one I knew of. Then, when I met bf (he lives in West Haven) we started doing alot of things in Orange...about 10 min from him. Imagine my surprise and excitement when I found out there was one there...lol. I also work in Milford now too, so I'm close.

Now whenever we go out to dinner in Orange (at friday's or south of the border, etc.) we go there. I have to be careful though...things are so cheap I tend to buy lots. I can EASILY drop 60 bucks w/o knowing. I only go when I have some extra cash...lol.

I'm obsessed with Christmas Tree shops! One week I go to the one in Albany and the next week I go to the one in Holyoke MA. I'm afraid to skip a week 'cause I'm afraid I'm MISSING SOMETHING! Love it, love it, love it!

sblme, yes, we went to the one in Orange, CT. You're right, I dropped $75.00 bucks in there! Not a problem! Sooo easy to do.
I also loved that 99 cent store and I'll be going back to get some goodies there as well as back to the Christmas Tree Shop since they change their merchandise weekly.

BTW, I used to live in West Haven, CT quite awhile ago, used to shop in Orange and Milford all the time. I had lived down the street from the Railroad Salvage store. Heard that area isn't that great anymore.

My DH and I have a friend from India who wants to bring his family things from America. I suggested the Christmas Tree shop 'cause their stuff is really nice and the prices really low, and he said he will go there that it sounded good. Guess I'm taking the right major in school, Marketing. I should get a commission don't you think for promoting the store? (LOL)

christmas tree shop is the greatest! If I do want to shop though, I go early early, when they first open, if not, I'll be spending more time looking for a parking spot than shopping lol.

Ummmm <hangs head in shame>, I have never even HEARD of a Christmas Tree Shop! Maybe if I would go to one I would be more in the Christmas spirit. I think I lost my love of the season a few years ago.

sblme, that's so cool, also a Marketing major. I haven't taken any marketing courses yet, I start one of those next semester. If I didn't have to work full time to pay for my schooling, I'd quit and go full-time. Those are the breaks.

Don't feel bad that you've never heard of them, Mouse and Mickey, (LOL should I say Mickey/Mouse)
Christmas Tree Shops are only in the Northeast

Mickey, not sure where you are in Upstate NY, but the only one in NY is in Albany. If you are ever anywhere near there, though, you HAVE to go! It is SOOOOOO much more than Christmas stuff. They have everything from furniture to toys to food! I try to get at least once every couple of weeks because their stock is constantly changing!

3t: I'm a sophmore, so I haven't taken any marketing courses besides a general business one that touched on marketing. My school is odd...they alternate 6 months of classes with 6 months of co-op for 5 years, so I'm on co-op right now. I go back to school in January and I'll be taking 2 marketing specific courses that semester and one the next.

Hey...we should open a marketing or advertising firm in CT when we both graduate...lol.
