Voting Booths

I was looking through our local newspaper today and it had pictures of people voting in other states. I thought our voting booths here were primative, the stand up kind you go in and pull the levers down, flip the handle and the curtain opens when you are done. I was shocked to see in the paper people standing up in little cubbies manually filling out ballots! And one state they actually voted in a church standing up manually filling out ballots!

Hey, I remember those voting booths with the curtain! We stand at a high podium like table with sides...for lack of a better way to describe it. They used to have some special pens, but now it is a pen and small ovals to fill in...

My location is our grade school gym.

I voted! It was in a church, w/portable voting booths. The kind with the canvas curtain. We still have the "punch card" ballots. Now that may seem primitive, but at least I got to vote. That's what counts.

And when I was done, I checked for "hanging chads"!!

It was the first time we didn't have the pull down levers and had to fill in those little ovals on a paper ballot. They said they were phasing out the old machines and that it'd be that way from now on, paper ballots.

Curtains and levers???? No clue.

We just stand these little podium things too and fill in the circles at the town hall.
