Lightbulb Are you a teen with a career goal, or an adult still wondering which career to have

I'm an adult and I guess you could say I'm one of those wondering which career to choose. I work, but I often think that there is something truly special out there for me that I just haven't gotten my hands on yet. I tend to like Science and wonder if I should head in that direction for a career. But, first things first, I'm still at college so I have to get that out of the way first, then I'll have more leverage to get a better job.

So...what are your plans for the future? Do you have any job prospects lined up?

I am in college now too. I am in the radiography program but I think I might switch to nursing. I love science and it is my best subject. Have you taken an anatomy and physiology class? That is really interesting. It helps me with my current job as a nurse for an animal hospital. I hope it helps, even thought I don't know what I want to do exactly either. I know I love working w/ animals. Good luck with whatever you decide.

cujo, I haven't taken anatomy or physiology. The next subject I think I'll be taking is psychology, then perhaps Environmental Science learning about the Eco Systems. I'll have such a diversified background when I do get out of college. I'd also like to take a jewelry making class. I'm pretty much all over the map guess you'd say. Right now I'm taking a Music class.

I took general psychology and it was very very easy. I did not study once and got a B in the class. It was so easy that I could not do much with it because it would be boring. I like challenges for everyday work. Are you in community college or a university?

TY!! I am at a community college too. I think my next step is microbiology or something along those lines. I do lots of surgery at work and it is a big help to understand the details. I wish they had a marine biology class, I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was in high school. But I don't want to be in school that long. Does your school offer any intersting classes?

My school offers anything from medical to computer to science, physics, math, biology, assorted art courses, even a script writing course, courses related to becoming a DJ etc. etc. Check the Middlesex College web-site in Connecticut and you will see all the offerings. Just so you have the correct web-site, the school is located in Middletown, Connecticut. Which school are you going to?

less people are going to have traditional "careers" in the future . More people are going to hop around, change jobs, be self employed, or juggle various projects

Blue, are they still making Scooby Doo cartoons, or just movies? Maybe you could train to do animations for Scooby Doo.

Flash, I know just what you mean. I had to make a decision last night as to a major I'm taking in college. That wasn't easy. But, I am now a Marketing major. I think it'll hold my interest, at least for awhile 'til I change my mind again. Nothing like being an adult and not knowing which direction you're going in. It's really hard to figure out what your heart really wants you to do.

I think I'm going to go on to grad school for library science. I'm currently in my senior year here in English. I skipped around major. First Anthropology, then Computer Science, and now English. It's the subject that I enjoy the most, so why not minor in it. not to mention it's fun to make fun of English majors. Especially fun when you're one yourself.
