I think G.W. is sweet

the very hungry caterpillar--that part was funny but really, what was he supposed to do, yell, "Hey kids runs for cover I think we are being attacked?" I remember seeing the clip on tv when he was told of the attack, and it did appear as though he was very concerned....but i doubt he hung around simply to see how the hungry little caterpillar fared at the end of the story.

I think people are also too critical over Air Force One being diverted.....if MY life was in jeopardy, heck, I would hop all over the nation myself--to be honest, I'd STILL be in some nice safe bunker w/ my dh and ds....so I would not a good leader, I confess

I don't think the Bush family is any different than any other wealthy family with connections.....their mistakes et al are simply magnified due to their public roles......I bet there are wealthy families who have had far more than dui's in their closets and they do not have the press dragging out skeletons for the world to see.

Did y'all see those pictures of G.W. being posted throughout the internet---one with him looking thru binoculars w/ the lens covers on and the other w/ a book upside down? I wonder if those are real pics....and if they are, I am VERY thankful that my mistakes are not national and international focus..........and really, I doubt he is any more prone to that sort of thing than any of us---we are just fortunate enough to be able to avoid the magnification of our little foibles.

The fact that our First Lady ran a stop sign and killed her bofriend really bothers me. If Hillary Clinton did this, Chris Mathews and the rest would have been all over it.

Perhaps they would be unfair.....

However, the accident occurred when she was young, and it was an accident, not an intentional thing.....and i am sure it was not an experience she would have dealt with easily ..... they say people who accidentally kill strangers have a tough time coping, but to accidentally kill a someone close to you would have to be even more wrenching....I would venture those memories haunt her to this day and the pain and remorse are probably always going to be a part of her to some degree.

I like Laura Bush.....I do not know her personally, so I suppose a more accurate phrase would be: what I know of her.....she seems well poised, educated, sincere.
