| I think my brother has a special guardian angel
Ok, I promise this is the last story I will tell for today...just thought I'd share. This happened about a week ago... My grandmother and my baby brother (5 y.o.) were getting gas at a gas station in our town (wallingford, ct). She was done pumping and pulled right up next to the door of the store part (it was like a convience store type). Well, my brother was in the car (actually she has a minivan). She asked him if he wanted a snack and if he wanted to come in. If he said no, she was going to run in, pay for the gas and come back out. If yes, she was going to take him in, get him a snack, etc. well, he said no. she said, are you sure? and he said, actually, yeah, maybe I will get one. well...this is so scary! while they were in there...HER VAN GOT STOLEN! i mean, who knows if the person would have taken it with my brother in it, but still...it's so scary to think that he might no have seen him, still done it, etc. im just so happy he's ok!! my grandma still does have her van back. a friend who owns a dealership is lending her one for now. supposedly there have been something like 10 cars stolen that week in our town. thank god my brother changed his mind!  |

yes she did...she has a bad habit of doing this. she's been trying to break it for years. she says it s from back in the day when she didnt have to worry so much about people stealing her car....but she still does it sometime...especailly at home |

OMG...this made me sick to my stomach. So glad your little brother went in with her. I'm sorry her van is still "missing" and that does have to be traumatic itself, but mercy things could have been so much worse. Sorry...that was dumb to say, you all have surely thought of that already many times over. Whew...glad your little bro is safe. Ummm..there are times hubby and I leave the keys in the car as well when we just run into a gas station etc..ummmm...it's funny but there were times we have both gone in and I ask "Oh...I better grab the keys huh?" He replies "Are you kidding? Let them have the da## thing!"...LMBO! That was before we paid it off tho...of course it's not worth much now since it is so I would like to keep it in the "family" as long as I can! LOL!

Your little brother was so lucky, an angel must have been watching over him. So sorry to hear about the van however. Hope she gets it back. |

That is so scary! Your little brother is sooooo lucky and I bet this will be just the thing to break your grandma of her habit of leaving her keys in the car----I bet she is still wracked with worry over what could have happened to your brother even though thank God he is safe  , more so than the van being stolen, that is something that will stick with you for a long time....a van can be replaced, a grandson cannot.They are so fortunate. I was worried just reading this, cannot imagine having to live thru it. Big hugs to your brother and grandma
