Help...how do I get marker off my dd's hands?

Ugh! My daughter went into my desk drawer and got ahold of some permanent markers and her hands are covered. I have washed them many times already and it is barely touching it. Any savvy advice from mom's who have been there and know what household product might do the trick?...lol!

I wouldn't care if it was just a little bit of marker stain, but she completely covered both her hands...lol!!! They are now a lovely shade of royal blue...

Thanks,
Lori

A cotton ball and rubbing alcohol will take it right off. Just make sure to wash her hands well afterwards. I use the rubbing alcohol on EVERYTHING when it comes to those Sharpie marker "mishaps".

Mouse is right, that is exactly what I was going to say. It even works on dye that gets on hands or non-porus surfaces. I use rubbing alcohol to clean lots of things and it gets lots of stains out with very little work.

You know, it is so funny, I was looking at the bottle of rubbing alcohol, but opted on trying baby oil instead. Well, that didn't do anything, but make her hands really shiny...lol! Okay, going to try the rubbing alcohol now.

Thanks!!!

Isopropyl Alcohol usually takes off all types of marker.

If that does not work try nail polish remover. I have also got food colouring off of dd's hands by using Oxi Clean.

I've used baby oil or makeup remover with good success in the past - meanwhile I have THROWN OUT every non-washable marker!!

I like the oxi-clean idea!! Kath

YES, I do remember it...lol. I guess I can be very thankful that she drew on her hands instead of her face, huh!.... I tried the rubbing alcohol and it did a REALLY good job. There is still some evidence of marker left, but not enough to freak me out. Thanks everyone for your great advice. I just bought some oxiclean, so I might see if it gets off the faded looking spots.

Gasoline!! It cleans almost anything. But if you use it, make sure you wash the hands thoroughly with soap and water because gasoline will burn the skin if not washed off properly.
