October 23 from 6:02 am to 6:02 pm is (inter)national mole day. Celebrate with me!! In this case, a mole is not a tiny ground rodent, or what is on Cindy Crawford's face, but a unit that is used in Chemistry. A mole is like a really big dozen. A dozen has 12 things; a mole has 602000000000000000000000 things in it. (That's 6.02 x 10 to the 23 (can't make the exponent work)) Just some quick facts: one mole of pennies could be evenly divided between every person on the earth and spent at a rate of $1 million per day for about 3000years before you started running low on $. But, one mole of water molecules is less than 1 tablespoon. That is how big a mole is, and how small molecules are!!!! Quick joke: It was cold this morning, so what did Avagado wear? His ther-mole underwear!! LOL-I love puns! Here is the address for the National Mole Day Foundation site if you want more info! [Only registered and activated users can see links.
