Big grin "I hope when you have children they are JUST like YOU!!!"

Hee hee...my Mother's words came back to haunt me once again this morning as Logan (9 yro) was getting ready for school. Mercy that child is a slow poke! When I was younger, my Mom would tell people she had to tell me 30 minutes before we were to leave the house to get my shoes on because I would need every minute. Well...I don't think it really took me 30 minutes to put my shoes and socks on, but it DID take me forever! I had to have my socks JUST right and then if I got my shoes on w/o wrinkling my socks, I had to have my shoes tied as tight as I could get them (<-- still do that) and that for the most part means that the eyelets were/are just shy of overlapping! LOL!
Well...Logan does the sock perfection to the hilt! He loves those footie socks, which is finebyme because I like the way they look on the boys, BUT I have thrown so many socks into the "rag" drawer because he pulls them so tight b4 putting on his shoe that he stretches the top cuff out!!!! If I buy a smaller size then he won't wear them because his shoe "will eat them" as the day goes on. If the sock is "close" to the point of being a TINY, ITSY, BIT stretched out...oh God forbid..the day is ruined! Sooooo...there goes that sock into the rag drawer. I have many times said I was going to buy him some of those sock garters and some tube socks! LOL! I seriously DO know what my Mom meant when she would say "I hope when you have kids they are just like you!!!" Anyone else care to share?!?!

Whenever my mom comes up for a visit, and the kids act up, she just SMILES and SMILES. When Sarah says some smart remarks, I get an even bigger smile from her.

I just know she is feeling VERY happy, TOO happy if you ask me, to see that Sarah says and does a lot of the same things I did. She has told me many times that Sarah is just like I was. What is the expression? Turn around is fair play! LOL

You mean "Paying for your Raising?" The Mother's Curse?

Jeez, I've been lucky. Neither of my kids were NEARLY as bad as I was.

And just why DOESN'T that surprise you?

Just another reason why I'm not going to have any. I don't want to give my mom that satisfaction.

No such stories here. Both DH & I were perfect children, so we don't know where they get it from.

My Mom used to say "You're going to pay for your upbringing!" Same thing!

My Mom told me this all the time...
I am glad that my DD is just like me.
I may not think that when she gets a little older ... But for now... Its good.

My grandma had a saying.
She would tell my mom just wait your chickens will
all come home to roost. Mom called her one day when
by brother was real bad(he was a wild child) and
told her chickens have come home. I always say I hope it
is my chickens that come home to roost and not dh.(he was
a wild child also). Mouse my ds is so picky about his socks.
Oh the seam is wrong. I have a wrinkle on and on. The only
socks he finds comfy for his sensitve feet are gold toes.
Since he has those no more complaining.

Kriss, it's Kenny's (step)Dad that does the smirking here...actually it's more of a let it all out laugh! LOL! He use to get so mad at Kenny for not putting his tools back...well...when Kenny was telling him of the time he pulled into the drive and here was Codey digging in the stones and dirt w/ his new chainsaw file....you just KNEW Bill felt the pay backs were finally coming full circle! LOL!

ihvfaith...LOL! Sometimes hon' it's NOT the socks, it's the shoes...or so he says! LOL!

Ya all are rotten sitting there in your little puter/desk chairs and telling me how perfect your little offspring are!!!! Pfffftttt! LOL!

My youngest is a real wise butt....I can't take credit for all of it..I do believe Daddy is partly responsible there. At this very moment he is mocking Logan, not to be a "kid", because he knows Logan just proved him wrong! UGH! Just a sec.......had to break it up...it was getting ugly! Almost time for school and they still manage to fit in a little duking-it-out time.

LOL! I'm not saying that she is perfect. I'm saying that I am not nearly as bad as my parents made me out to be.
My Daughter is like a frickin carbon copy of me.
She so far has been the easiest kid to take care of that I have ever seen. That may be hard to believe... But it is true... and you can ask anyone who knows her.

Wink

My mother always told me when I was growing up that she wished that when I had my own children they acted just like me.

Well, a couple of years ago after having problems with DD, I called my mother and apologized for everything that I ever did a child!

(I couldn't have been THAT bad!!)

Well my daughter is only 3, so I'm hoping most of it is due to her age...lol! My mother was over the other night and watched the battle of wits between me and my daughter. My daughter was being really fresh and repeating everything I said...very annoying...lol! Well, I kept telling her to stop, but she would just mimmick me. So I finally stopped talking and did the mom death glare!! After a few moments, my daughter kept saying "mom, what's the matter?...MOM!...talk to me.....MOM, please talk!" All the while she was holding my face in her little hands pleading with me to talk to her. She was so cute. Finally, I said "Jessica, don't be fresh." You know what happened..."she smirked and said "Jessica don't be fresh!" Well, my mother just about fell off her chair she was laughing so hard. She said "she set you up and you fell for it!!!" LOL. I had to walk away so I could have a good laugh.
