That is awful and I can imagine how upset you are! Sending you (((prayers)))) and {{{good vibes}}} to handle this.

When I was 8 months old, my sister (who was just shy of being 3) took a razor blade to my fingers. Mom was in the kitchen and came walking into the bedroom with blood all over the place, I still have scars running the length of my fingers, but not a single nerve was hit. The doctors were amazed.

Hang in there, and I hope your story keeps some one else from experiencing this horror!

Oh Paula! That's terrible! I'm glad Joseph is going to be ok. I don't think there is anything you could have done to prevent this. And it's NOT your fault, so don't blame yourself!

OOOOOMMMMMMGGGGG Paula!!!!! You poor thing..I just don't know what to really say. I am SOOOO thankful that Joseph is going to be alright. I can't even imagine being in your shoes that day...I don't even want to. I know the social services and such put you thru the wringer, but I have to say I am actually glad to hear that they REALLY do pay attention. I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end tho. I mean..I just can't imagine trying to make someone understand that I didn't hurt my child. Whew! Is Edward able to "communicate" well enough to say WHY he did this? How are his parents dealing with this? BIG HUGS!!!

paula.......thank you for sharing..thats what we are all here for.....im glad joseph got the care he needed and that child protective services are so quick to get involved. i know that you dont understand that now......but think of all the children that do get help when there is no one else around to help them! ive been investigated a couple of times and i know what you are going through. just be thankful that , one, joseph is ok, and two that you have friends who are here for you to lean on! hugs and please let us know how it goes!!!

I'm so sorry. This is a shocking experience from the injury to the social serv folks grilling you, to the aftermath of wishing things hadn't happened and wondering "what if"... All I can say is I feel for you and thank God it all worked out. It will take some time for you to stop shaking inside and out. Try to relax and enjoy your life - it isn't the end of the world. I can only imagine how horrible you must have felt when you first saw that Joseph was hurt, but please remember that this is NOT your fault. Who would think that a 14 month old could or would do this? I wouldn't - and probably would have been caught in exactly the same situation as you because I would have left them sleeping too.

I'm so very sorry that this happened & hope that somehow you are all able to heal as a family. Big hugs to all of you & remember that I'm here if you want to talk.
