What I do is make a paste of flour and water. Just put some flour, a couple of teaspoons, into a bowl and mix it with some water until it is all dissolved and looks kind of like glue. Add that to the pan drippings along with some water/wine/beef stock (unless you have a lot of drippings or liquid left over from cooking the meat it would be best not to use just water). Stir that and bring it to a boil. That will make the gravy thinken and cook off the fllour taste from the paste. This is usually the type of gravy that you would use on a pot roast.

If you want a thinner gravy just use less flour or leave it out all together. If the gravy is too think just add more liquid. Hope this helps!!!

I prefer white/milk gravy myself, but my dh loves brown gravy. I make it the same way that doglover does. My sil buys a packet in the grocery store that has all the ingredients and all you have to do is add water. There is also a gravy you can get in a jar that all you have to do is heat up. Both work well....
Now, if you want a twist on the gravy...get a can of Campell's(spelling?) Golden Mushroom soup. This works really well on roasts...just pour the contents in the pan and add some water or broth. YUMMMY!!!!!

Easy brown gravy.
Buy a can of beef broth.
Buy a box of corn starch.
Put broth in a pan on the stove.
Bring it to a boil.
Mix some corn starch in a bowl with a little water. till it dissolves.
put it in the pan of broth right when it comes to a boil.
Wisk it and turn off the heat.
It will thicken. ( especially as it cools down)
If not then add a little more doing the same thing.

Thanks guys I went to walmart yesterday and found some gravy packets. Im guessing it would be easier for me that way. As far as the ingredients go, I dont have a lot of stuff. Corn starch, flour, whisk, etc. LOL
