Coupon Organizers

Hey folks,

How do you organize your coupons? Do you have one of those small file folders and just order them by category? Do you just throw them in a heap and search while in the store?

Anyone have suggestions as to how I could organize mine?

Melissa

I keep mine in a large photo album. I organize them according to category... meats in one section, dairy in another, personal care in another and so forth. It's not really the best method, but it works for me.

I use one of those wallet size flie folders (the kind that have that elastic band that goes over a button to close) and keep in in mt bag at all times. I have the coupons grouped by catagory. My catagories include: baby items, main/side dishes, condiments and sauces, meats/fruits/veggies, toiletries and cleaning suppiles, breads/soups/cereals, snack items, frozen foods, cat items, and misc.

My dad has so many coupons that he uses a small box (almost the size of a shoe box -- kinda like those ones you would get to store photos). He keeps it in his truck so he always has them with him. The box fits right in the top section of the cart.

I use an index card box (4x6) and I use index cards as my dividers. I just write the category at the top of the card and can add or change anytime.

As I'm shopping the box fits nicely (sideways) in the child seat portion of the card. I have the box open and place the coupons I'm using in the lid.

I have 2 grocery stores pretty close to me....Ralphs - doubles coupons, but doesn't take expireds and Albertsons - takes expireds, but does not double coupons. Once I get myself organized with other things, I'm thinking of getting a second box just for expireds to use at Albertsons. Then as I clear the expireds out of my main coupon box, I can just put them in the other for the occasional times we do shop at Albertsons.
