What kind of blinds are you looking for? If you are looking for aluminum horizontal blinds you could try Home Depot. They carry standard sizes but can also cut some to fit. I bought 58x72 for around $32...I think? They are adjustable in length by removing some of the slats for a shorter window. They also carry wood or faux wood and the even cheaper vinyl. I think they only have white and antique white...

If you are looking for vertical blinds, they have those at Home Depot. Not sure of the brands or quality. JCPenney always has free shipping on theirs. American Blind and Wallpaper may have some deals, too.

As far as color, you might want to stay with white or cream. What type of furniture do you think you'll buy? What color?

Being that you don't have furniture for your new house yet, I'd stick with white. You could always bring color in the way of valances, pictures, etc.

As for the blinds I'd go with Home Depot. We bought the white (in stock) 2" faux wood blinds from them and love them! They will cut to size (width) while you wait, but you need to adjust the length. It is actually pretty easy to do. We bought blinds for 17 windows and paid under $800 after tax. Since we bought so many we left the widths we needed and they called us later that day to let us know when they were ready. Quick, very reasonable pricing, and wonderful product!

I have to agree with Ttulipss, white for the blinds, I'd even go with an off white, and add color with a pretty valance. This way if you change the color of your furniture, they will still look OK, and it's less expensive to change the color of the valances. It just allows for more decorating options.

I would definitely go with white blinds. Off white can tend to look yellow with age. I have colored blinds in a couple of rooms and that was a BAD choice. My house was newly built and I think I was just in a hurry to get something up and went with color. WRONG choice! It limits you so much!! Lowe's is a good place for made to order blinds and also American Blind & Wallpaper. Good Luck!!

Definitely WHITE for aluminum mini blinds. What twinmom said, off white ones just look dirty. Trust me, I have beige miniblinds all over my house--yuck.

You can get cheap miniblinds almost anywhere, HD, Lowes, even Kmart or Value City usually carry some. I got new ones for each of my bathrooms for about $12 a piece. (Wasn't that concerned about quality tho, since I was selling).

Congratulations on your new place.

We got our mini-blinds for about $4 at Walmart! This works out best for us because one of our dogs is constantly poking his nose behind the blinds and it bends them all up. He's only two years old and so far, we've replaced 4 blinds - 2 of them twice in the same year!
Ours are a sort of off white color. I think it's called eggshell or something like that. And no, they're not beige - I agree that beige is yucky! This off white color seems to "hide" the dust too. They might be cheap, but they still look great! I honestly cannot tell the difference between these cheap Walmart ones and the custom made ones my mother has!
