| cottage or home deco tips
Some ppl inherit high traffic rooms with aweful walls or floors. Your stuck. Painting would require new dry walls...because of uneven crap and horrible walls. Flooring is pricey. This tip works walls and for floors too...but on floors you have to put down 8 coats of polyuerethane...........walls require two in heavy traffic areas like bathrooms and kitchens. Floors also require an updated coat about once a year almost.
The tip?
use magazines, maps, pictures, blueprints, sewing patterns, etc. attatch to wall or floor with light household glue...and roll them flat. Let dry. Add coats of that stinky polyurethane. If you want a antique look..........no prob! Most dry amber. If you want crystal clear.............use that product. The more coats........the more depth and life you will get out of them. thus far I've seen a floor made out of an old book.......a breezeway with seed packets......a cottage bathroom out of old maps..........a cute study out of old bird books.............I'm telling you this is a wonderful look and very inexpensive. The cottage bathroom was mine.......cost me $18 for all the walls. Plus it's almost bullet proof!! LOL . joke. Cottage was done 5 years ago using household glue diluted with water....two coats of polyurethane....and is in brand new condition still. Although most ppl prefer clear polyurethane......I love the amber colored ones.....although it says' on the label it's almost clear....give it 2 or 3 coats.....it antiques it.
Have fun......if you are getting out of options.............try this!
