Tongue How do you get bad odors out of your car??

HELP! I feel like I'm gonna puke every time I get in my van! Last week my son got sick in his seat on our way home from the store. I cleaned it all up, scrubbed the seat several times and sprayed with Lysol when I was done. The next day it just smelled like Lysol spray, but a few days later I went to get in and thought I was going to lose it! It smells HORRIBLE in there!

What can I use to get rid of that smell for good???

I've noticed the Lysol just tends to mask the smell.

Have you tried washing it with a paste made out of baking soda & water? My son got really sick in our old car & I put a paste on made out of this, let it dry overnight and then vacuumed it out. Because it was warm, we were able to let the car air out over the following week & smell was not a problem.

I'd also think that Fabreeze would work well - I know it worked wonders on a friend's carpet down in Florida when they had a nasty accident with sewer overflow!

Also, I soak a cotton ball in my favorite fragrance and put it in the ashtray. Keeps my car smelling good all the time!

This works!

Couple of weeks ago I spilled 40 ozs of coffee and 32 ozs of iced tea in my floor- not on purpose HAHA but I had to stop suddenly.

We cleaned it up with carpet cleaner then put a glass of white vinegar in the beverage holder for 2 days.

Smell gone and there was even a vinegar smell for a couple of days but no smell of any kind now.

Vinegar will pull any odor out of anywhere.
