I am interested to know what hairspray you think works the best. I have very thick, straight, short hair that needs a good hairspray to hold a curl or even some body. If possible, I want to be able to buy it at Walmart. I want my hair to look nice, but I'm cheap too. Thanks Nancy |

I have really fine, limp hair. I use VS Sasson. It isn't as stiff as Aussie scrunch. It's raining here, and all I have to do is fluff my bangs a bit to get them back into shape (as long as I didn't get them saturated in the rain )

I love Pantene. It holds really well! Okay, and no one freak out when I say this, but if you need a hairspray that REALLY holds like crazy there is always Aqua Net.... hey, it's cheap, too.. ha ha |

Just received philosophy's "hold that thought" hairspray, but haven't tried it yet....if I think its better than my current brand,i'll come back here & post. My current vote is VAVOOM & if your Walmart has a salon you should be able to buy it there... Most people think its expensive, but if you want "serious" hold, the freezing spray will do the trick & the can is huge~ so it will probably last you 3-6 months! If you like to be able to re-style after spraying, try Vavoom's shaping spray. It is in a smaller size than the freezing spray, but still its a large can(both are aeresol). The smell of both is pleasing. What I like about them both is that they aren't like store brands(full of alcohol which is very drying for the hair & they don't cake & flake either).I can even go out in the rain & as long as its not pouring down,my hair is "ok". By the way, this is not like cheap brands that will make your hair so stiff that you break your hair trying to get it out of your hair!

I've turned away from hairspray, mainly because spraying is irritating.... I've found out that using mousse lets your hair look shiny and holds good too, without it looking stiffy. But now I have dreads so I've forgotten what brand I used. But I did buy it at Walmart, was a blue bottle with a black top, and knowing they way I am, it was cheap.... Lin |

Thanks! for all the replys. I have since cut my hair even shorter. I have tried the Aussie spray and I does work great. I have found spraying and then letting my hair really cool off (I use a curling iron), styling and then a quick spray works the best for me. At first I wasn't sure I liked having such short hair, but I have to tell you, I love it now! When I wake up in the morning and need to jump into the car to take kids to school, I go thru it with a pic and I'm ready to go. It may look a little funky, but hey I think of it as being BRAVE.
