Christmas Gift Tags

I am big into scrapbooking (but still over a year behind!!) Anyway, I have a couple of friends into stamping and thought that would be fun. I am still in the early stages of learning as I just don't have the time, but a couple of Christmases ago, I thought it would be fun to make my own gift tags. I've put to use my scrapbooking stuff as well as stamping. I use colored cardstock, patterned paper, stamps, embossing stuff, decorative scissors, double stick tape, double stick mounting tape, ribbon, rafia, etc. and really enjoyed it! My girls would take 3 hour naps giving me time to work on them everyday. Last year, two of my friends joined me and we just had a great time. They brought their kids over and they played for a couple of hours while we were being crafty!! We're planning on doing again this year, too!

It really helps as I have a bunch of paper, cardstock, scissors, etc. from scrapbooking that I don't have to go out and buy this stuff just for this. One of my girlfriends and I each bought a couple of stamps and the other friend's aunt is a distributor for D.O.T.S. (a stamp company) and would bring a bunch of supplies and we would all pool our stuff making it pretty inexpensive, yet it really added a personal touch to our gift-giving!

a great idea for xmas tags. we have a lot of small children in our extended family who are not old enough to read, but like to pass out the presents. last year we scanned in pictures and printed out on heavy paper (printed in "tile" mode so printed several "tags" on each page) used a paper cutter to cut, folded and used a hole punch to run a ribbon thro to attach to package. the kids loved it - so did the adults. during the gathering, i took pictures so could do again this year - and the gift tags will have a "christmas theme"
