What You'll Need: newspaper small see-through plastic bowl many colours of tissue paper, torn or cut into 2.5 cm (1 inch) pieces sparkles (optional) decoupage glue clean paint brush What's Next: Spread newspaper on the surface you will be working on. Using decoupage glue, glue pieces of tissue paper to the OUTSIDE (this is very important) of the bowl. The pieces can be glued randomly, in a pattern or to create a mosaic picture. as shown Sprinkle sparkles on any blank spaces if desired. Allow the bowl to dry for 10 minutes. Completely cover the OUTSIDE of the bowl with two coats of decoupage glue, letting the first dry for two hours before putting on the second. Put the first finishing coat of decoupage glue on, let the bowl dry overnight and finish it in the morning. Or make the next craft while you're waiting for the first coat to dry. Tips: YOUR BOWL CANNOT BE PUT IN THE DISHWASHER AND SHOULD ONLY BE WIPED OUT WITH A DAMP CLOTH, NOT PUT ALL THE WAY INTO THE WATER! Where to find it: Dollar stores often carry see-through, coloured plastic picnicware as well as tissue. Decoupage glue can be found at any craft store. |
