I read in a magazine about making chubs. But now can't find it. I know you take a roll of paper towels and cut it in half. I think you let it soak 3 days but what do you put in it? Anyone know.

In a paint class I took the instructor said you just mix water with a bit of baby oil and soak the towels in that. You can use old wipe containers but they must be the wide ones. If you find out any more info - please post for all of us. |

| My recipe
I love homemade baby wipes. I've been making them for 4 years and swear by them. Besides the fact that they are made from things you have around the house anyway, I feel safe using them on my children as I know what is in them. Anyway - here's my recipe: 1 roll of bounty cut in half (I use my electric knife - it's easier) For each half roll you need: 1 1/2 - 2 cups warm water 2 tablespoons soft soap (not antibacterial) 3 tablespoons baby oil Pour the ingredients into a cylindrical container - there is a rubbermaid one that is a perfect size, but I can't remember the size right now - probably 4 or D. Mix the ingredients gently. Put 1/2 roll of paper towels in the container. Cover. Let the cardboard core get wet and remove it. Let the wipes soak the rest of the mixture for a while. My daughter helps make the mixture and really enjoys it. I love this stuff. I think it is much easier to just mix it up when I need some then to keep buying it from the store. Be sure to use good quality paper towels. We ususally use Bounty. The one time we used cheap towels - the wipes just fell apart. We buy soft soap by the gallon from Sam's club. And I just buy generic baby oil. Pretty cheap and handy. |
